President Michael Sata has been presented with the report of the findings of the tribunal appointed to probe allegations of professional misconduct against former Tourism Minister Sylvia Masebo.
The Roydah Kaoma chaired tribunal presented its report to the President at State house this morning.
Meanwhile President Sata has appointed Jean Kapata as new Tourism and Arts Minister replacing Ms Masebo who was fired last week.

What happened to the Kabimba tribunal report? Did Judge Chikopa take it?
That has long been dealt with: tribunal did not find Kabimba guilty of any wrong, and life has moved on.
Ms Masebo has no credibility.
The fundamental problem is that there’s no credibility in the judicial system, which is a system that’s been completely politicized. This is retaliation and selective repression.
How you and i , condone it is what should be worrying.
Thanks
Now that Masebo has been fired by Sata, I have no hesitation in “second guessing” and pre-emptying the report findings to the effect that Silvia will be found to have acted beyond her powers and everything else that she was accused of. That is how cowardess our judiciary has become. Even the PF machete Hooligan from Lusaka has intimidated all possible witnesses including the arresting police officer so no one can turn up at court but despite this the magistrate can lock him up. Kabimba has survived both the ACC investigation and a tribunal simply because Sata has not “thrown him” out. On the otherhand GBM has been left to hang and as soon as that happened, the sleeping investigative wings rose from slumber to see all the allegations of curruption. What a state of affairs to be in.
Jeans Kapata should even think of Tourism, she should use her personality in ARTS.
Tourism demands some “attractive” ones, like Namugala.
PF at work – FIRE and then MAKE FINDINGS & RECOMENDATIONS
Masebo is not completely got rid of by Sata. Her firing was just a show to deceive most people that Sata is still the man of action.
The cartel headed by Kabimba will make sure that she get another ministerial post possibly deputy minister followed by a promotion to head another ministry . Just watch the space.
Jean Kapata is a Nurse by Profession. This lady could have been more useful in Ministries to do with health as a Junior.Am at a loss as to what attributes the appointing authority saw in Jean to be elevated to full cabinet Minister in charge of Tourism.Honestly speaking, can Jean be a Tourist Attraction herself?Atleast Sylvia Masewo has both intellect, beauty and sound education and not forgetting experience.PF whereto mother Zambia??????
You will be shocked that Masebo is cleared. Masebo was probably fired for bringing the name of the President into disrepute by saying that it was the President who told her to fire the ZAWA guys. I didn’t expect her to say that.
yaba! what a useless Tourism Minister. Can Kapata be compared to the giant Silva. R.ubbish
Kapata is more mediocre than Masebo! Both characters, including the appointing authority are mediocre! The level of leadership leaves much to be desired and worthy of a nation striving for better in this century. Actually from independence, it appears that the standards of leadership and governance has been falling with each successive govt. It is only when the people of Zambia realise that they deserve better and can do better that we can hope for real and meaningful, sustainable development.
If I happen to be dead and silva was my widow I would be confident in my grave to have a strong mouth piece for my orphaned children than Crooked Kapata. She has been rewarded because of surporting S.Ata’s s.on to win election as Lusaka district chairman.Don’t worry silvia, my apple.
this now vindicates Kabumba that Given Lubinda is treacherous.
Mushota dont worry, you are in the same boat!
On 19 March 2014, all Africans had a reason to be proud of the brave and principled leadership that exists on this continent in the form of South African Public Protector, Thuli Madonsela. In a sober and considered manner, she read out the findings of the long-awaited Nkandla report – her investigations into the ‘unconscionable’ amount of R246 million of taxpayers’ money spent on upgrades to President Jacob Zuma’s private residence to no public benefit.
In spite of attempts by the security ministers to interfere with her investigation and recent attacks on her character by the president’s supporters, she was not swayed from her constitutional duty to act in the interest of members of the public. The slander she experienced was not surprising given how far ethical and accountable…
If only we can put our integrity first and not just lick the backside of whoever is in plot 1. It is only then that Zambia will get somewhere and the commonly abused term of “development” shall have some tangible value that people will be able to see. Until then Zambians shall continue to smile and defend the indefensible, without shame, simply to appease the occupant of plot 1 irrespective of how filthy the “backside” is.
Vinabwera mochedwa … vima Facebook! The only country in the whole world being run from facebook. Has anyone seen Sata over the last three weeks? I keep seeing file pictures on news, some of which have become too monotonous!!! Like the one where Chellah is standing behind Sata.
Your observation is very true, and something must be done so that we see this CNP or Chumbu Mushololwa our president.
Yeah
Ala cacine mwandi. Fima feshibuku enshi. Kuti batampa shani ukutupela ‘State of the Nation’ address pa feshibuku mwebantu? Nemulanda! Nalandako fye.
I dont like ka Masebo but KAPATA is too urgly to attract tourist mwee
Iwe UKWA wilansekesha ndi nensala ine!
Oh! Masebo was a tourist attraction?
u would liker masebo as your advocate if you were in prison.
It is only when the people of Zambia realise that they deserve better and can do better that we can hope for a real, meaningful and sustainable development. How can a nation be governed by the worst elements of it’s society(corrupt chaps, mediocre chaps, uneducated chaps, visionless chaps, thugs, thives and villains etc.) and hope to develop? The appointing authority, Masebo and her replacement are all useless and do not deserve to be called leaders!
OK but chi masebo chisuma zoona..Face fye yeka yeka ilelondolola. Masebo can you marry me please??
you like that big piped nose? you would suffocate in the blanket. at school we used to call such nosed chaps ZAMOX.
What ever evils Syvia committed, she is my preferred candident. She is intelligent and can express her self well. But I do not know how my sister Kapata will perform. Let us wait and see. This is pure political patronage at work.
One has to read between the lines, Jean as been elevated as part of the appeasement for the people of North Western Province
Didn’t I hear that Kapata is invloved in illegal acquisition of land in Kabwe!!! Now Minister mmmmmm.
Jean Kapata now minister of Tourism and Art, for sure PF has no credible people to take this nation forward. The lady in question, the ministry she is taking over is beyond are capabilities and hence it will be another tourist in that ministry and time for Sata to look into cameras again soon, or may be this time it will be done via FB….
Whatever happened to merit.
Chi Masebo is beautiful. If Kapata was to undress in your presence u would scamper in all direction from the ugly face. kissing her you can lose your lips.
Is Jean K married? If yes. Did the parents ask for dowry or they just said, “musendeni fye, lesa wa maka!”
Masebo, although corrupt was garrulous and a bit intelligent with good figures nomba uyu mayo mwabalamuna, expect a decrease in the number of tourists.
Barotse buffalo so u don’t know that tourists like UGLY things to look at.
You haven’t noticed that normally basungu like marrying ugly and very dark pipo so that they really see that this is a tourist attraction lol
Ine if Ukwa appoints me as a minister or anything cant even be excited at all as l know its a temporal thing.
Taulateka amatako two you re either misplaced or fired.
Never trust a cobra.
Kabimba also lying lying that PF will go beyond 2016 ubufi doing for himself but never can the man win even Ukwa wont atase ifyabupuba ba PF
Why is Masebo referred mto as Minister of whatever, when she is not. LT jack up your standards, ma hule imwe!
I hope the report doesn’t end up on a dusty shelf holding the Zanaco report, Barotse Report, Constitution, Airport Radars, Oil contract…..
I wish Masebo was first suspended at the beginning of the tribunal and fired after the tribunal findings were presented to the president. I think this would not have shown that Masebo was fired for reasons other than the tribunal findings. We would emphatically be saying she went because she was found wanting by the tribunal that probed her.
Now who knows exactly why she had to go? I mean this definitely shows she may have been axed because if other things but especially events during tribunal hearing. However, the President should be commended for upholding the rule of law by allowing the tribunal to go ahead. This shows he listens to people, it not be all the time but at least he does.
@4 Constitution is the #……… The underlying reason for most our office bearers failing to be people of integrity is predicated in the manner of their appointments to higher office. If only these appointments could be made by an independent group who cannot be influenced by the party in power and protected from interference by constitutional provisions then integrity in people will be encouraged. In short thats why we need the constitution.
i will keep praying for you Ms Masebo
Masebo should not have gone there to receive it as it is useless after her dismisal.
Another report to his ever increasing archive collection. ..he has no shame at all.
ZWD claim they have already accessed the tribunal report – from the grounds of state house! They have even quoted from it!
Check out the report on ZWD,very interesting results
The report says she did nothing wrong,so what happens next since she has already been fired?
