Zambia Daily Mail appoints new Managing Director

THE Zambia Daily Mail Limited Board of Directors has appointed Bryson Mumba as Managing Director of the newspaper firm.

Acting board chairperson Tamala Kambikambi made the announcement in a press statement issued by company secretary, George Zulu and made available to the Times of Zambia yesterday.

Until his appointment, Mr Mumba was acting managing director in addition to being the director of finance.

Ms Kambikambi said the board had also appointed current director for editorial, Nebat Mbewe as acting deputy managing director.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Mumba said he was humbled to lead the Zambia Daily Mail at such an exciting time.

“I am particularly delighted that l will be working with a team of experienced media professionals as we continue to transform the newspaper for our wider stakeholders, especially the readers,” he said.

Meanwhile the board has appointed Samuel Mweshi as director of finance until a permanent appointment is made.

  2. Has he appointed as managing director or managing editor? Who is the editor in chief at Zambia daily mail? Is this a newpaper or a courier company? Shut it down and let them all become newspaper vendors for the POST. You are wasting tax payers money on these wankers!

  3. I have known Mr Mumba as a very straight and humble man. I hope he will manage to withstand the pressure from politicians, especially from the PF who are bent on controlling even the page on which Sata’s picture must appear. Congratulations Mr Mumba but please remember the people of Zambia are watching and listening to whatever your paper says. Choose to side with the people and not these 1diots in the ruling PF. If you are not careful, they will finish you and dump you in the bin when they don’t need you anymore. It has happened before and it can happen to you as well.
