Today’s Message: Breaking Strongholds

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.”
(2 Corinthians 10:4, NKJV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

Scripture tells us that there is a battle going on in our minds. Our thoughts dictate our actions. That’s why the enemy will do everything he can to get you thinking in the wrong direction. Sometimes, it’s not our own thoughts that are holding us back; sometimes it’s that we’ve believed the negative things that other people have spoken. Those words are like seeds. If you dwell on them long enough, they’ll take root and become reality.

In life, there will always be people telling you what cannot be done, speaking negative things. Too often we latch on to those negative words and develop what the scripture calls a “stronghold.” That’s a wrong thought or action that keeps us from God’s best. The way you break those negative strongholds is by rejecting the lie, forgiving the person, and embracing the truth of God’s Word. In other words, you have to choose to delete that negative file in your mind.

Today, why don’t you take inventory of your thought life? Ask yourself, “Where did these thoughts come from? Do they line up with what God says about me?” Break the negative strongholds and embrace God’s truth so you can be all that God has called you to be!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, today I choose to reject negative thoughts. I choose to reject lies from the past. I break every stronghold through the power of Your Word and embrace Your truth which sets me free in Jesus’ name. Amen.

    • @Nostradamus,

Yes it was welcome but lets not loose focus on the performance of the government. One man can not surely make the whole system change. My Brother I would rather watch this space closely than put my fish on the brazier yet. Lets be careful. Ati Kalulu ali le …………………. you can finish…

    • @ Nos
Sorry was replying to wrong comment. Thought I was on, “The dismissal of Kabimba by President Michael Sata was long overdue-Katete PF Chairperson ”
      ignore. Goodnight its late here

  1. Amen, this is what i have been looking forward for long time, thank you again and wishing you more Gods guidance in Jesus name

    • And what is “holiness” a Pastor is preaching from the bible which in itself is filled with lies….this is what we mean when we say our people are truly lost with this selfsame slavemaster’s religion.

  2. Afrikans you do not need a scripture to guide you….during slavery in America the black slave was denied education, books, his Afrikan culture BUT he was encouraged and given time off to go to church and be preached to…why?
Think about this very carefully now, if takes you an hour, a week, a month…I don’t care I just want you to think about.

    • Zo ona – (True) Jay Jay!!
The so called “Christian” is still racially brutalising the African American, as we debate on L.T.

    • @Keleni barred by L.T.
But try to engage those so called “Christians” our brothers and sisters in Africa or America they will attack you physically as they have been indoctrinated to point where they are out of their minds.
They have absolutely no clue whatsoever where this 2000 year old religion originated from.

    • @Jay Jay, let go and watch soccer, what time is the game? Zambia vs Sudan (Christian nation vs Islamic nation).
One team will be raising eyes and hands to sky, the opposite team will be bending over to the ground.

  3. Good message. Just as I would choose to consult and follow the manufacturer of my laptop, or my car to get the best performance out of them, it stands to reason that I would choose to consult and follow my Creator to get the best performance out of me.

    • Correct as your laptop manufacturer built the laptop and wrote up the user manual….where as when it comes to yourself God, he/she created you and somebody or persons has handed you a user manual to guide you in the form of a bible or Koran.
      Wake up!!

  4. @jay jay, now you are contradicting yourself. On one hand you believe what the Bible says: i.e. That God exists, and that he created man in earth. On the other hand you don’t believe the Bible. Can you make up your mind please.

    • This is what religions does to you even basic critical thinking is denied from the “believers”.I don’t need believe in what the bible or koran says or embrace a man-made religion…the bantu or my great ancestors DNA in me makes it impossible for me not know that there is a creator just like our ancestors believed in before even this religions came along more than 5000 years ago. Not everyone who is not religious is an Atheist, there are people who are spiritual and conscious out there…study your own history about self.
I acknowledge that the Creator is manifested in all natural living things, thus pay reverence to nature, as it is the source that maintains humanity’s ability to live.

    • @jay jay, an Atheist (meaning “without God”) is a person who disbelieves or denies the existence of spirits or a supernatural Being or Beings. Period. Your are unsuccessfully trying to play with semantics in your comments and you call that critical thinking? Try rational thinking and it will dawn on you that behind all that facade, your views are primarily racially motivated. It’s very obvious. You are a Malcolm X wanna be, but minus the foundation. That’s one stronghold you will have to face and deal with in this global village of free integration, intermarriages we now live in. I honestly think it’s you who should wake up and smell the coffee.

    • @Cactus..
It would be very convenient for you if I was all those things you described me as that deflects the debate away from the topic at hand…you carry on dropping a few red herrings along the way if it comforts you.

    • @Jay jay:- I respond to your accusations and views that becomes dropping red herrings?
You accuse me of lacking basic critical thinking, You claim you are simultaneously an Atheist and believe in God. You claim black American and black African Christians will physically attack you if you if you try to engage them because they have been indoctrinated out of their minds. You’ve said black American slaves were denied good education but allowed to go to church …why?
So you feel you are in topic and should accuse others and insinuate to your hearts content, but the moment one comments on these exact points you have raised and challenge you to substantiate and that becomes a red herring?

    • Jay Jay – Cactus is blind and cant reason beyond the bible when it comes to spirituality and religion. Bena ni bible chabe ba cactus. So jay jay leave him alone, i mean we cant save everyone. some of these people are too old to have such huge changes in their lives. ninshi mwabafumishapo ka foundation, all that they ever knew and believed is taken from them and some find this too hard a change that they would rather continue and believing in lies as given them by their masters. Cactus boyi – just go to church and sing jehovah jirah song while clapping and go home home and hang another picture of a blond blue eyed jesus in the living room as we know you have already.

  5. Seventh installment-When did the temple veil tear?
Mark 15:37-38 and Matthew 27:50-51-agree that after jesus breathed his last then the curtain tore in two. However, Luke 23:44-46 accounts that the curtain tore before he died or breathed his last.
Here again is another in-consistence in the bible. How does the word of God inspired by the true witness which is the holy spirit give different accounts to this tearing of the veil.it just goes to show that the bible is written b mean hence mistakes and their perceptions of what God is.God is not jealous,is not angry.wake up people!!
sure in this day and age, people believing ati a man was swallowed by a fish and he was in the belly of the fish for three days and three nights and then it spat him out at a place called Nineveh, never died!

    • Not a contradictory as you may look at it,its like muvi tv,and znbc, sabc reporting the same event, surely they will all report the core issue but it’s format will be different on all 3.the core news is the veil was torn into pieces.these are accounts of eye witnesses, the gospel were written 20-50 years after Christ resurrection.

    • @chikubabeniso-so going by your logic, then it fits with what we keep telling you.those words in the bible are not from God but from individuals saying or writing what they think god said to them.So you as a christian would be foolish to base your entire life on thoughts and opinions of people like Luke,Matthew who are just giving you their understanding of a divine deity.if i was also in that time perhaps i could also have written a book saying Jesus had a wife and it could maybe have been in the bible and it would also be true.because that would be the Gospel of Jesus according to Zagaze, but alas the 325A.D council of Nicaea would suspend my book because they would rather create a Jesus messiah that suits the would be christian of the future like you to easily convince and control you.

    • Chikubabeniso-so today you telling me that the writings of the bible or gospel is actually not the words of god himself but that of men and their interpretation tefyo? so stop cheating people that the bible is the word of God himself. is there anywhere in the bible where you can tell me that these words were uttered by god himself? If you claim the bible the way you do,show me why it is different from the words of alice lenshinas god, or that of chief monze the rain maker. After all they are all men giving witness and account, according to you,of events they suppose are from god.so why should you despise your african spirituality and only favor words told you by the whites.does it mean god only had important things to say to white people?
