The Daughters of Mary Immaculate (DMI) has joined in commemorating the event in different ways with special prayers dedicated to President Michael Sata.

National Co-ordinator Jenny Maila has for this reason urged women in the country to pray for President Sata’s quickest recovery.

Sister Maila also observed that women can contribute to Zambia politically if they changed their mindset.

She was speaking in Lusaka during the DMI Women Federation on the sidelines of the 50th independence jubilee celebrations.

Sr. Maila thanked First republican president Dr. Kenneth Kaunda and other gallant freedom fighters for his immense contribution to liberate Zambia from the colonial rule leading to attaining the country’s independence.

And speaking at the same function, DMI Secretary General Mary Tembo is happy that DMI was expanding across Zambia.

Ms. Tembo urged women not to relent but to continue from where the fore-fathers and mothers left politically especially bringing food on the table for their families.

October 24th, 1964 is when Zambia became independent.

  1. They should be praying for his safe return and not recovery because we’ve been told he’s just gone for a “medical check up”.

    • Czar,

True that. Seriously, praying for a “medical check up” when we were told that he is “fit, health and working at State House”!
PF should be ashamed of their lies because the eyes of God are everywhere and looking at all that is happening.
Anything PF says is lies, exhausted from these scam bags and counting down, 19 months and 13 days left until PF is democratically deselected from power.

  2. The Daughters of Mary Immaculate must be arrested for insinuating that the President is so sick that he needs prayers. The man went for MEDICAL CHECK UPS!!

  3. Pray is asking God for his WILL not being commanded. Even when Sata dies, the prayer is answered just as well as if he recovers…which is UNLIKELY

  4. This takes ‘Chaos Theory’ to a whole new level. PF Gvt is saying Sata is NOT sick. Catholic Church is saying Sata is sick. So who is telling the truth now?. Lessons to learn for future Heads of State:- This is what happens when a Country is run on an ideology based on lying and deceit, i.e. ‘Don’t ukubeba’. Lying and deceit begets chaos, chaos begets confusion, confusion begets disjointed actions, Disjointed actions beget retardation in national development.

  6. ME TOO, I PRAY FOR HIS QUICKEST RECOVERY. ZAMBIA HAS COME TO A STAND STILL WITHOUT HIM. HE’S THE IMPETUS BEHIND ALL THESE INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENTS TAKING PLACE. HE HAS THE DREAM TO MODERNIZE ZAMBIA AND THAT DREAM FLAME SHOULD CONTINUE. IT’S LIKE CHIRWA’S DREAM WHICH CAN NEVER BE SHARED BY ATTANGA.
