ACTING President Guy Scott has described President Sata as a revered comrade who was his teacher, brother and leader.

Dr Scott said President Sata has died too soon when he was needed to continue fostering development to Zambia.

In his message written in the book of condolences at Government House in Lusaka on the passing of President Sata on Friday, Dr Scott said he laments the passing on of President Sata.

“How I lament the passing on of my revered comrade, teacher and leader Michael Chilufya Sata in such an early stage of the country’s development programme. We shall carry on with your legacy brother,” he wrote.

Patriotic Front secretary-general Edgar Lungu said President Sata was his mentor, among other attributes.

“My boss, it’s hard to believe that you have gone so soon to the silent world. I always believed you were there for all of us at least up to 2016 so that we could continue as your students,” Mr Lungu wrote.

Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Wylbur Simuusa said President Sata was his mentor, hero, father and teacher.

“Words to express the sense of loss I feel at your passing my mentor, my hero, my inspiration, my teacher, father and my boss who taught me to achieve great things, especially in politics,” Mr Simuusa wrote.

Secretary to the Cabinet Roland Msiska said in his message that President Sata taught him that vision should come before budget devotion and perfection.

Dr Msiska said President Sata told him that this was core to the survival of the nation adding that this is supposed to be kept until a nation succeeds.

  1. Kind words Dr Scott, please then honour our late President by getting rid of racist investors in the agric sector like Zambeef, Zambia Sugar, Chobe farms, Amatheon, Sable farms and others who all have one thing in common unfair and repressive working conditions for their black employees. Stop pushing for farmers to export maize to neighbouring countries when you know very well that small scale farmers cannot manage that hence you are only proping up these imperialist racist commercial farmers I’ve always mentioned. Let’s support small scale farmers and do away with these greedy commercial farmers that are nothing but parasites.

    • Hypocrites, all of you! You knew the man was terminally ill and you pretended right till his death he was fit as a fiddle! Now you want to act shocked and write a few catchy empathetic eulogies. Shameless, corrupted bigots!

    • @Dalitso

Does the Zambian constitution allow a son of a colonialist, who our fore fathers fought against and shed blood to liberate us from, to occupy the Presidency? In fact this particular individual was NOT even part of the liberation struggle but was enforcing colonialism when we liberated us from himself and his relatives.

Does the spirit of the law which specifically bars such a person allow a son of a colonialist through donchi kubeba to surreptitiously and insidiously ascend to the Presidency through the back door (letter of the law)?

    • Scott which Sata legacy are you going to carry on?

      Lies
      Plunder
      Womanising
      Violence

      etc

We are not going to give you a chance to carry that legacy….
God almighty has given Zambians a golden jubilee gift to reverse the mistake they made in 2011

  2. HE Guy scott you can also make a name by ignoring wynter and the post. sata left instruments of power with lungu that was a direct way of telling you and the world that he is our next king. campaign for him and the whole world will respect you. ANY CRIMINAL CASE AGAINST LUNGU WILL NOT MEAN WELL TO ZAMBIANS.

  3. As I said in an earlier comment which didn’t appear. Dr Scott please honour our late Presidnet by putting the pressure on what I consider racist and imperialist firms such as Zambeef, Zambia Sugar, Amatheon, Sable farms,Chobe farms (Chimsoro) and others that are destroying the agric sector in Zambia by taking up large swaths of peoples land and paying low salaries and giving poor conditions of service to locals with no corporate responsibilt while their musungu bosses live and work under the best conditions imaginable. Why is this happening in an independent African nation? I believe HEMCS wanted to change all of that but falling health sidetracked him and he left his ministers who have proven to be traitors to his socialist ideals. Do the right thing get rid of these racist investors.

    • Kwena 2020Vision ulasekesha. Why have those same workers agreed to work under such conditions? Until black Africans gain some pride and get rid of the subconscious mentality that white people are the masters, they’ll continue to be exploited.

  4. mr president call chenda and masebo and the other team tell them sata chose lungu so we are all supporting him. Belv me you will be a white mandela. sata is a hero becoz he never spared the truth. just ignore wynter and become an hero

    • You clearly don’t understand how things work. We the people have to choose someone. (Yes, even you, you are allowed to choose.) You are not bound by a choice made by the already-dead Mr. Sata.

YOU are also entitled to choose someone that you think is best for you and your descendants. It’s your right. Don’t go by someone else’s choice. Choose for yourself!

      Understand?

    • Sata used to plunder guy scotts moist bottom with full force. He has taught scott well about having an orgy with fellow politicians; evans mfula at evaduco reporting live from lusaka

  5. We will find out in the next few days whether you passed the lessons. If yes, expect the same treatment from the Zambians, if no, well we shall find out.

  6. Dr Scott ati Chilufya Sata was a “revered comrade” ??

He was distrusted, disliked and disparaged by many others for his lies, disrespect/openly humiliating others and fostering conflict plus divisive politics.Simply put,he’s a man who lived by the sword.

  7. There is too much hatred, bitterness in this country. Ask God through His prophet Emmanuel Chika what is the direction as Zambia we must take. We have been taking things our own way, but it is time we ask God. The bible says my people perish because of lack of knowledge. People with selfish interests, look at our mothers, widows, disabled and children, help us to live in peace.

    May God bless Zambia.

    • @PM, And with all your education, what is the one thing you have contributed to this country? Scott’s PhD has served this country well. Take your sticky fingers off him, ba some of us ba kantu!!! Mulekwata nomuchinshi!

  8. The Sata the Zambians saw as president, was not the same Sata they had thought they knew when voting for him. Many now will have to think twice to perpetuate his legacy as president.

  9. Zambia is known world over as a friendly country but also a nation that suffers from acute hypocrisy. If you doubted this just read again the worshipful eulogies above about a man who introduced a culture and left a legacy of violence, lies, bullying, insults, corruption, hatred, nepotism and intimidation.

  10. They used to whisk him out of the country in the dead of the night when he lived, now they bring him back mid morning when he is dead!! Such cheek! nansoni balibe amambala!!! The party he formed can go with him. He was divisive and tribalist! More 80% of the cabinet and most of foreign service staffers from one tribe! That is not one Zambia one nation! Time to choose wisely!!

  11. They whisked him out of the country in the dead of the night when he lived, now they have the cheek to bring him back mid morning when he is dead!!! The party that he created, the tribalism, nepotism, lies and corruption will go down with him.

  12. REALLY! THIS IS SO BORING. WHO CARES WHAT SATA DID?? We heard the same from mwanawasa. But we all know SATA. Media shld be educating and informing . Rip now Enough of this dead man and publish what will build people than personal stories.

  13. I think we are all suffering from a touch of ‘Stockholm Syndrome.’ We are feeling love and empathy for a party that has maltreated us by failure to produce the constitution so that issues of succession would now be easier.

We love Sata and want to dignify his passing. Whatever political and economic mistakes PF made under him has now been made worse by the constitutional mess the PF have put us in by nominating Guy Scott as acting President. A few things pop out of this:
I want to mourn fully, but am prevented by mess of current situation. Disturbing vying for political leadership has begun. Mulenga Sata generously ‘forgave’ banished PF members, presumably for thuggish conduct. Clear indication they intend to use these same old thugs in coming elections.

    • Also Stockholm Syndrome is evident in supporters of Guy Scott. After the trauma of colonialist ion, who can Africans accept a ‘non qualifying,’ white citizen as President? What is the phenomena behind such psychological myopia? There is a need to hold on to Satanomics even though we know them to be disastrous in terms of External Debt.

Citizens have bonded with agents promoting development through propping up ‘investors.’ This is explained by the fear, PF politicians are displaying. They are so desperate to uphold ‘controlled colonial style’ development, a Theory based on Sata’s past history as an agent for colonial Britain. Analyse what is going on in the psyche of the Zambian at the moment. It is inconceivable, after the cries to release the constitutional changes…

  14. All the front-runners to an empty State House on Plot One mentioned by your site include only people who normally would be exclude by the parentage clause; the same which has allowed three (3) other previous Presidents to rule for the following years:
Kaunda, of Malawi (27) Chiluba of Zaire, (10), Mwanawasa, some quietly dismissed questions; Banda born in Zimbabwe (3); now Scott of Scotland.
Mulenga should not be outright dismissed.
Amend the constitution, selectively, only on the clause that deals with Parentage to allow all the contestants to compete on substance. Only under the condition of ushering-in a new people’s driven referendum-approved one before 2016 general election.

    • Oh yes do lets be cavalier with our constitution. Let’s amend it to support foreign Presidents?! Exasperating.

No, please let’s not. How many countries change their constitution to allow non qualifying people to control the country? Their resources? Their land? Do foreign Presidents not pose a real danger to the rights of the people of the land?

In Zambia our current gov’t have underhandedly ‘resettled,’ white colonialists now titled ‘investors’ on large swathes of our land. So much so, that we are for the first time running out of land for indigenous populations in prime locations. I am getting at the agenda against indigenous populations by these self interested parties. I also believe a lot of black Zambians abroad should be banned because they have been…

  15. It is inconceivable, that after the cries to release the constitution, mainly from opposition, the same criers, are now busy blindsiding us with ‘acceptance’ noises on the breach of the constitution in electing Guy Scott as President of Zambia in the interim. Did this not apply to Mulenga Sata’s parentage clause issues too? Well Guy Scott said that neither him nor Mulenga would qualify under the Parentage clause to become President of Zambia. Note if you will, how PF, Mulenga Sata and supporters of Guy Scott as President have tossed aside the constitutional issues at their will. And what do we the people say? “Oh yeah, we ain’t racist,” How ridiculous. Whom will you vote for? I say ensure it is for the party that puts forward a constitutionally acceptable candidate.

    • In relation to proposed changes to change the parentage clause AND reducing the requirement from 10 years to 5 years residency in the country for indegenious citizens who have lived abroad. I say. Let’s not change a thing.

I also believe a lot of black Zambians abroad should be banned because they have been miseducated to hate their origins, and culture. Most want government in tandem with western gov’t agendas.

  16. Really!, Sata as mentor, friend, teacher and leader.

    – Mentor in arrogance
    – Friend, scratch my back and I will scratch yours
    – Teacher in lawlessness and ubukakashi.
    – Leader, Zambians gave Sata opportunity to lead – Dictator
    Legacy – failed leadership.

  17. No wonder the deceased used to insult the whole lot of you left right and center like he was talking to little naughty children. He clearly knew how useless you all are so who are we to now listen to you? Get a life all of you.
If you want to address us please touch on issues such as tribalism, the cadrising of the civil service, the destruction of the professional diplomatic service, the giving of Kaseba a large chunk of tax payers money (was it the same money she was using when accompanying the late on various tours, what about the other family members; let’s hope so), nepotism and the blatant disregard of the Constitution by for example appointing of a retired relative as an acting Chief Justice.

  18. These liars will lie themselves to the grave!! We know their true colours. If a man lie to me once, woe unto him, if he should lie to me twice woe unto me! This is indeed the end of this tribal party. Ba Chikwanda would have steered it through the troubled waters, but he is a rabid tribalist of the highest order. We should not bury our heads in the sand and play the pleasantries game. Lets face up to the realities of our circumstances. The gullible can point to development used as ploy to rape the state coffers. It does not take rocket science to see the rot of massive corruption behind the smoke screen of development. Wake up mother Zambia!

  19. @ Patriot Abroad
    @ Aquilla
What the Cabinet decided in favor of Guy Scott was very correct.
Constitutionalism must prevail, even when we know there is manipulation.
Scot is a psychologist who is very capable to identify manipulation. If he fails; we will point it out to him. For now Scot must finish the job; it is very simple; usher-in a new people’s driven constitution; just as Motomoto did to the Bemba people in 1889!

    • @Analyst

I fail to identify which constitution you are using as the current unchanged one does NOT permit Guy Scott, Mulenga Sata to be President of Zambia under the parentage clause. Had PF delivered the 90 day constitutional changes as promised we’d all be singing from the same hymn sheet.

You clearly did not understand the issues being raised in relation to the two. Guy Scott will clearly be allowed to complete 90 days and no further. He has no power nor right to finish the job. The attorney general must stand for the constitutional mess, even put on trial. I hope there will be prosecutions.

  20. @Clueless
There is a lot of strength in looking weak as the Acting President and Defense Minister has done, to give up power voluntarily.
I admire that he yielded in the interest of the common good. What I must say categorically is that he should not yield to give up the post of Party secretary General.

    • @ Analyst. Concur.

Save to act as President, which he is suited to. That is PF’s sure ticket. The rest will bomb, unless they choose another obscure member who has no truck with antagonising citizens. PF as indicated by pardoning banned members to return back into the fold, will most probably create violence as a way to force win’

  21. Plse Zambians. Lets get back to our proverb that states’ Zyalumwa zyayanzana’ – meaning, when they (cattle) are attacked, they stand together. Now that we have lost our president, we have been attacked by our common enemy – DEATH. Hence, lets put our differences aside and mourn him peacefully.

  22. @Patriot Abroad, You are probably right about everything, but what about the flag on your profile picture? You are comfortable my friend, besides Zambians no that type of thinking wont put food on the table, just saying. Lets look at the bigger picture here, jobs, investment, rainbow nation, wealth, less corruption, organisation and for change Zambian towns will be clean. As an investor who would you pick to do business with HH, lungu or scott, just saying.

  23. As far as I am concerned the Name SATA is tantamount to SATA-N…. yet we are surprise that he and his degenerates bamboozled the country and …continue to do so (even in death) with the appointment of SCOTT as head of (Satan’s Cohort Of Thieves & Trickery).
Wake up yea mighty people and look beyond your tribal affiliations for a leader that can actually lift the country and its people up… Wake up!

  24. RIGHT NOW I DO NOT HAVE WORDS TO DESCRIBE SATA. I AM JUST SO DEVASTATED BY THIS HUGE LOSS ZAMBIA IS REELING THROUGH. HOWEVER, I WILL SIT DOWN TO WRITE ABOUT MY OWN EXPERIENCES WITH BA SATA AT LCC. AS AT NOW I HAVE NO ENERGY. LIKE ANYONE ELSE, I AM GOING THROUGH THE ANGUISH OF LOSING THIS GREAT LEADER ZAMBIA GOT BLESSED WITH. IT’S HARD TO BELIEVE SATA IS GONE. ALL THE WORDS ATTRIBUTED TO SATA BY ALL MOURNERS ARE TRUELY HIS DESCRIPTION AND MORE. BUT, ITS VERY HARD TO SCAVENGE A WORD THAT BEST DESCRIBES HIM. EVERY WORD JUST SEEMS TO BE NOT ENOUGH. BUT THAT WAS SATA THE MAN HIMSELF. GOD HELP ZAMBIA.

  25. If sata was your teacher, you are a bad listener and a failure because you are misleading the nation by not applying what you learnt. Why trying to make lungu look inferior to the nation who was respected by your teacher(sata)? Zambians are against you and your plans of trying to fuse in kabimba or mmembe in government.
Don’t mislead the nation because if we want you to move out of that position you can move because you don’t even deserve to be there due to the fact that you are a foreigner(both parents not zambian).BBC,CNN,SKY and other white medias are laughing at us because of us allowing a white foreigner to be our president.

Let lungu be our presido or else pf decline

    • I agree with you totally. The problem is that we still have a lot of semi-educated Zambians who still worship white people and think its cool to have a white president.
