Chabinga toasts Mufulira Wanderers promotion

Head coach Manfred Chabinga is thrilled to see Mighty Mufulira Wanderers win promotion back to the FAZ Super League after a nine-year wait.

Chabinga’s Wanderers won promotion on Sunday with a game to spare after recording a 1-1 draw away at Grinaker in Chililabombwe.

Mighty last played in the topflight league in 2005.

“For me as the head of the technical bench, it is a great achievement to bring back Mighty Mufulira Wanderers to the Premier League,” Chabinga said.

Second placed Wanderers who are tied on 64 points with Division One North leaders Forest Rangers have an assailable lead over third placed Kalulushi Modern Stars who have 60 points with a match left to play.

“Even players worked hard. Winning promotion means a lot. Fans too are very happy that Mighty is in the Premier League,” added the ex-Zambia defender.

Chabinga hoped that Mighty excels in the Super League.

He hinted the Shinde outfit would beef up its squad in readiness for the 2015 campaign.

  1. Yeah Chabinga you need to buy players for the next season. You should also emulate Zoom ndhlovu by going into the villages of Luapula to look for talent. Thats where Efford Chabala came from.
