Zambians are not ready for more lies – Saunders

Daunte Saunders speaking at the UPND news conference
Daunte Saunders

Political activist Dante Saunders has reminded aspiring presidential candidates in next month’s presidential election that the people of Zambia are not ready to take any more lies from them.

Mr. Saunders says the people of Zambia particularly want to see some form of action especially in the area of enacting the country’s new constitution.

He notes that the forthcoming presidential election presents an opportunity for the country to usher in a new government that will honor promises and ensure that a people driven constitution is enacted before the 2016 general elections.

Mr. Saunders has told Qfm News in an interview that there is clearly no reason why Zambia should not have a new constitution.

He notes that the people of Zambia have already stated what they want, and therefore it is only a matter of any party that will be in government in 2015 to endorse what the people want and ensure that the 2016 general elections are held under a new constitution.

  1. Tell that to Edgar Lungu and Miles Sampa, with their fists in the air!!
    – RB came back to bring peace, I don’t understand why that is a lie.
    – Nawakwi is telling the truth that PF are lairs
    – HH is not lying at all. He is only telling Zambians that ” Zambia United- please kick development forward”

  2. Finished recycled politicians now looking for jobs with nosensical cheap politicking.

When you were in employment, you were mute. No wonder a wise man once saI’d ‘Never to teach old d0gs new tricks’.

    • Saunders is a respectable man who is not looking for a job like Banda you should be a child who does not know people and just comment for the sake of saying something.

  3. *******
Hakainde Hichilema is the youthful and energetic leader of the major opposition political party, the UPND.

Hichilema was born on 4 June 1962 to a poor family in a village in the district of Monze. Life started out tough, but Hichilema’s grit and determination in pursuing his studies paid off when he was awarded a scholarship to the University of Zambia where he studied and graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Economics and Business Administration. He then went on to obtain an MBA degree in Finance and Business Strategy from the University of Birmingham in Britain.

Since then, Hichilema, affectionately known as ‘HH,’ has carved out an impressive track record in business, both locally and internationally.
    Hichilema used his university…

  4. Saunders you are right, that is why we don’t want liars like HH to ever rule Zambia. the good news is HH will NEVER rule Zambia. Let him try cows.

  5. Some people will hang themselves when UPND forms govenment on 21st Jan 2015

    Chumbu Mulolwa

  7. opposition is desperate to go to state house and telling lies and over promising what they cannot fulfil.

PF is the way forward in 2015!!!

  8. lets not fight and insult each other Zambia. rather assess the “promise makers” and be wise at the poll.
candidate 1: “i will continue where Sata left off…” clearly has no vision of own
candidate 2: “i will make education free for all…” clearly doesnt know how much debt zambia has. And doesnt tell us how he will do this….
    shud i continue…

    Be wise zambia, be wise.

  9. PEOPLE WITHOUT VISION NEVER THINK ABOUT TOMMORROW NO WANDER THEY ARE LIKE A MELEAPAGE (CHYONGOLI OR JONGOLO) WHICH CAN NOT GO REVERSELY. SELFISH AMBITIONS ARE ROAMING IN PF. US HERE IN KASAMA SHALL VOTE FOR HH.
    VIVA HH VIVA UPND

  10. There more lies in HH business cards saunders if you flip it behind and see at the back

An analysis and sound economic commentary can be made to show why each point at the back of that card is not sound

It clearly shows that HH needs to think critically if his message has to sail

Unless people donot see the economics behind and what a punch for a punch I can do that and show why in the Zambian scenario that doesnot hold to be true in the short to near longterm

    • HATERS you will hang. You fail which lies HH has said.your PF has lied several times.Eig constitution in 90 days were is it?barotseland agreement what happen?I will rule using 10 commandments what happened to chitimukulu ?Iam a lergic to corruption ,what about RDA at state house and Nsanda contract deals?

  11. Why are most Easterners and Bembas so so tribalistic. Is tribalism a disease? And they do it with so much pleasure and yet quickly rush to point fingers at innocent people. These Tonga people are Objective traditionally, they do not have jealousy, they are hardworking and most of those I know are honest. My fellow bembas, stop insulting your intelligence by speaking tribalism and things out of this world just to get your guy at the helm. This is not Manchester Vs Nkana, it is my life, your life and our great grand children. Imagine if they learn about history that their forefathers made decisions based on tribal lines regardless of whether the candidate is childish, a drunk, a thief? Imagine…

  12. Viva viva PF-EL.Hi guys we have started campaining for EL.Please be in board.HH freight yachita crush.HH sold mines and has no experience at all.EL has good experience as acting president,Defence, justice,Secretary General and a lawyer.he knows govt system and u can’t corrupt him. This is why mmembe is scared. We can’t try HH who has no Mps in parliament and no experience.HH has regrouped mutati’s brother who sold the mines.now he is working with south africans in order to still the minerals.PF should continue. We have never seen road development in zambia before.Everyone it’s development.we need a man of pipo and a humble person.Lungu released constitution with 2 months as a chief justice.when he came in, there was sanity in the party and NGOs stoped talking about constitution.Vote EL…

    • In 3 years mealie meal has moved from K35 to K85, fuel from K6.23 to K10.28, No subsidies, No representative constitution, 90 Days Bogas, No money in the pocket, Inflation rate higher every month, lack of political control, poor conflict resolution skills, etc. I care about my country, I care about my children and I really want peace. So I will choose credibility and not chaos…

  13. Iwe Saunders, just come out in the open and tell it in the face of HH. HH has been lying to the people from day one and am sure he has even forgotten the million lies he has said.
The man has no clue on how Government works hence his ranting left right centre.
Edgar Lungu, the PF president on one hand has already released the Draft constitution to the Zambians in less than one month of his powers and that’s why we are voting for Mr Lungu as the 6th Republican President of Zambia.
Lets be serious as senior citizens instead of lying to the young ones. The die is cast and Mr. Lungu is the President of Zambia.

    • We who support HH are writing down all the promises and we will make sure that we remind him to deliver so do not worry he is not like chumbu mushololwa he will surely listen and take action. Kaunda gave free education, medical etc so why do you think HH cannot do it it is Zambia Forward

  14. HH has no MPs? Lungu as Chief justice released constitution? You have your facts wrong. For your information UPND (HH’s party) has more than twenty MPs. Please be informed that Edgar Lungu has never been a Chief Justice. Going by the situation on the ground HH is the favourite to run away with the presidency come 20 January 2015.

    • Just goes to show that ignorance is bliss, my brother. It is said that in the land of the stupid, ***** shall be king.Any enlightened person should appreciate the surefootedness and maturity that HH exudes as a politician and potential head of state. He is simply head and shoulder above the rest of the other aspirants. After Sata’s period of theatrical and shambolic misrule, HH is exactly what the doctor should order in order to move the country forward. The man has vision and conviction, and is well capable of holding his own on the world stage. The presidency of our nation would once again be taken seriously by others instead of being viewed as the village *****.But I will not hold my breathe because Zambia has too many unenlightened souls.Bless them.

  15. HH’s supporters:
    1. Can you give us a composition of his shadow cabinet.
    2. Is HH going to fulfill the promises he is making in 1 year 6 months? Mind you he is campaigning for 2015 elections not 2016.
    3. What about the issue of Barotseland, he is going to give them what they have been asking for from the previous governments.
    4. What is he saying about windfall tax?
    5. What about the issue of Argawal’s insults to Zambians and KCM buying the mines at a song?
    6. Can he tell us who his parents are

  16. For now HH is still no strategically positioned to fend off and charge mindfully with his players rallying behind to critically counter the other camp and offer a meaniful campaign for the 2015 elections given the fiscal reshime already in place.

Its like you have been given to debate “Mandave” then you go on talking about the whole Lusaka in a very incoherent manner with cards and burners out of touch with national and global economic cycle

His MPs need to be seen to be in support and so far its like him alone in the show.

But to be honest with you Gary Nkombo or Cornelius Mwentwa or that one other articulate UPND MP can marshal more votes than HH

  17. It could have been a straight win for Guy Scot given the parentage clause given the gains registered as seen in infrastructural projects

People like to see and what is seen is what is voted for in Zambia and it takes a lot of effort to change the mind set
Good leaders like Edith Nawakwi and Milupi could stand a chance but in wrong party atmosphere to marshall strong support

Miles is a youthful leader to grow but for now cannot win an election outside matero unless with a unitary support

Edgar lungu riding on the fortunes of PF and already in poll position stands a better chance of winning and besides he is more of a neutral candidate

HH is second and wont win…

  18. Reason with researched data dissecting the ECZ voters roll in the worst and best case scenario for each candidate taking into account those factors against and in favour down wetting and adjusting accordingly to a particular degree of confidence and see that Edgar is the favourite to win no matter what

HH need to check the back room staff of his elderly men like Haloba if he has to win an election tactically in combination with fundamental analysis avoiding chipate pate

This election is clearly Pf in Edgar Lungu anything short will win it for my in-law HH

  19. I have a big big problem with ALL the young men and their young politicians. In other societies yes young men have become good politicians and leaders of their nations, even the world. But not so with us in Zambia. Whenever the so called young men are entrusted with political power the results are disastrous, and the list is endless. When they have political power it is andione.

Only RB makes sense in this pack of candidates.

For me it is RB all the way!

  20. Mr Saunders, were you hibernating?
Anyway, jack of all trades and master of none, welcome back, we could do with another perspective.
