Defender Nyambe Mulenga has been involved in a road traffic accident on his way to Zambia camp.
Football Association of Zambia spokesperson Nkweto Tembwe said the accident happened in Kabwe this morning.
“Nyambe Mulenga, Under-17 midfielder Changwe Kalale and Green Eagles Goalkeeper Satchmo Chikawa were traveling to Lusaka for this week’s camping when they were involved in this tragedy near Kabwe,” Tembwe said.
“An unidentified Pajero, coming from Lusaka direction lost control and hit into the Zesco bus which was transporting the players to Lusaka.
“The three have been rushed to Kabwe General Hospital.”
Very unfortunate indeed. Hope they didn’t sustain serious injuries. Best wishes & get well soon, guys.
We pray for them. Sad indeed.
Thats really a sad development, wishing the trio God’s protection and comfort during this time hard time… Hard luck guys
Mr Kalusha Bwalya,
Why didn’t you fly those players from Copperbelt?
If on a plane and it crashed, what would you tell mr kalusha you maggot
sad, this will cost FAZ more than what it would’ve costed them to just get Exactly Three Air Tickets for the Players…
they have alot of Money as an Association, which in actual sense, these Guys (Players) Generate…
wake up Call for FAZ, your Ignorance and Greed is putting People’s Lives at Stake…
may the Souls of the Departed Rest In Heavenly Peace, and the Injured, may Angel Raphael dwell upon you by the Grace of God’s healing hand and see you through this Trying Time
Its very sad indeed. I wish in Zambia we can learn to respect other drivers. The man in the pajero lost control because of over driving and consequently killed and injured other people. Developed nations have less number of accidents because they are more responsible
It’s a combination of factors in Zambia. Irresponsible and reckless driving, bad roads, corruption (I mean people who have not passed a driver’s test can buy their way through RTSA). And above all that, lack of political will (or is it political capital) to change the rottenness of the system.
What do we expect when half of the drivers’ licences in Zambia are just bought? This is the price that we get from corruption!
Normal reasoning Zambians should realize that PF has always been & will always be a party of tribalism, nepotism, rascalism, violence, lumpens, scums, thieves, lawlessness, retrogression, & economic prostitution. As clearly evident from the recent happenings, this is a party that cannot even uphold its own constitution. Contrary to normal expectations, the party instead promotes & condones violence & lumpenism. Surely, how can you entrust a pack of jackals like PF to rule & run the affairs of mother Zambia. Hopefully, Zambians will vote sensibly come Jan 20 2015 & salvage Zambia from these rascals and jackals!
RATSA is the biggest waste of tax payers money. Imagine whilst we have chaos on the roads their director is reported to have gone on a rampage beating people up and speeding off whilst intoxicated. How do you expect such people to come up with ideas which will ensure order on our roads? Someone should be held responsible and if they can’t add value then they should simply be fired. Until such a time where people will fear for their jobs, no action will be taken and all cries will just fall on deaf ears. Zambians should start demanding for service delivery. Someone at RATSA is drawing a salary to ensure safety on our road. If we keep reporting accidents caused by careless driving, find these people responsible for road safety so that they can be interrogated. Too many lives lost on roads.
Was actually driving from Ndola to Lsk yesterday…
The kind of driving i saw on the road,…. ?!?!?!? Very suspect!!
RTSA are a let down on that aspect!
Surely you tend to wonder what is happening on our roads, more
especially Great north road. While the other accident involving Zesco bus carrying our chipolopolo boys was happening another one took place at Mulungushi University ‘Black spot’ lay-by involving a light truck and a Landcruiser, thank God no life was lost on the spot but the Driver of the truck was badly injured. To my dismay, it took RTSA close to 2 hours to come on the scene and just control the traffic flow. Equally pedestrians have been killed at the same spot but it seems there are no precautions being undertaken. I would appeal to the responsible officers to either put some humps and just other means in order to safeguard lives of people. So many lives have been lost at the same spot but it seems no one cares.
