UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema has said Zambians are yet to have a government that fully recognises the potential of the Copperbelt region.
Mr Hichilema said in Chililabombwe on Sunday that in this vein, the UPND will focus on better economic management so that growth will lead to more revenue and jobs.
This is according to a statement from the UPND media team yesterday.
“Zambians are yet to have a government that both fully recognises the potential of the Copperbelt region and knows how to manage its wealth so that the people benefit properly,” he said.
Mr Hichilema said his party is also committed to forming a transparent government so that people see how the revenue from mining operations is being spent.
He also said rights of employees and labour relations, as well as fundamental issues such as sanitation and health are serious problems.
Mr Hichilema also pledged support for Zambian businesses to help them become contractors and suppliers for mines and other industries.
It will only take HH and his team to realise the full potential for this country. I like the fact that HH is offering solutions and has been very issue based in this campaign. With HH, we shall go far

I like HH for the fact the he is thinking deep to the roots. He can even talk about of supply of munkoyo, mayeu and fitumbuwa to miners at break town. But how can our aunties spare a bucket of meal mill from those K120(000) bags of maize meal?
Under PF not even a miner’s child can manage to eat umusoya for breakfast, FRA is not flooding the market.
Indeed the mines have lost house hold economic potential.
The only candidate who does not know how to insult others. Zambia is really blessed to have such a person for a president. We are seeing someone visionary brainstorming on how he will develop Zambia without resorting to insults while his cadres are also non-violent as compared to the PF. Under PF people have seen humiliation to our farmers, Nepotism where only families and one tribe is favored, Violence of which the police has been reduced to nothing, High mealie-meal and fuel meal prices, high poverty levels, tradition affairs hijacking and the list goes on. Zambians now we have a golden chance of changing all these problems. Lets unite and vote HH to clean Zambia. Avoid it for your own peril. I have spoken.
Why is PF full of dull characters who can not articulate issues?
Right from the presidential candidate to the mere party cadre all can not reason properly. I dont think people are that stupid to let this group of evil liars continue to plunder resources.
Corruption, nepotism ,theft, violence, embezzlement will be far worse under Lungu, than Sata, because at least Sata was feared. Lungu is not feared by any of those that surround him.

From my analysis, he seems to have shot himself in the leg. For a fact he can win these elections/Erections. No matter how much time he spends in CB, he might just be getting 5-10% extra votes. Let him go to NW and Southern before they forget him and vote for NAWAKWI.

@ kudos, I wonder whether you have ever taken time to go through the MMD’s privatisation program and the documentation from the Zambia Privatisation Agency. I spent time doing so after wrongly believing that HH was one of the initiators. What I discovered in fact exonerates him. He has never worked for govt or the Zambia Privatisation Agency and has never been part of the decision making process, in fact at that time he was just an employee/partner of a firm that won a tender just like many other firms. Just google the Zambia Privatisation agency for true information and base your beliefs on hearsay. The mines were not even valued by the firm he worked for let alone in his individual capacity. If you want to blame anybody, blame MMD and FTJ who took the advise of the world bank.
If you were learned enough you would have known that it is a government which makes a decision to sale the mines HH was just one of the many who were assigned to carry out the job. Chiluba with Sata could have refused the proposal that was given to them.

H.H you are making my day.I have been waiting for a long time to hear that from a politician and you hit the nail right on the head.The Copperbelt and all other provinces need a self- adminstration possibly with a legislature. a premier and a pronvincial admin to run many of its affairs.If you can answer the copperbelt question then you can also answer the Barotseland question as all the ten pronvinces are badly run hence the unrests hear and there.The people need to see the rewards without delay.Lets not hide behind the constitution.H.H you have my vote in 2015.My 2016 vote will be determined by how you work on this issue and many others.Advantage H.H.God bless Zambia.

I see two human sectors in Zambia: those that support current useless govt because of tribe, tenders, corruption and nepotism. They want to continue eating. The second sector, genuine people that yearn for good leadership, want a change of this useless govt. It’s a fight between evil and good. It takes time to defeat evil. But good always triumphs over evil.
People like Kudos, are like a biological mistake and wouldnt want to spend time on them as reading their comments has just wasted much of time on this story.
