United Party for National Development (UPND) Sinjembela Member of Parliament Poniso Njeulu has urged Shangombo residents to vote for Patriotic Front (PF) Presidential candidate Edgar Lungu in the fourth coming presidential by-election on January 20, 2015.

Speaking when he addressed a mammoth gathering during a public meeting to drum up support for the PF candidate in Shangombo yesterday, Mr Njeulu said it was important that the PF returns the presidential seat for the area to continue receiving government support.

He stressed that Shangombo district has in the last three years received massive infrastructure development and social support from the PF government.

Mr. Njeulu who is also Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Services Deputy Minister observed that shortly after ascending to power in 2011 the PF government embarked on an ambitious programme to uplift the status of the district which he said has over the years been ranked the poorest in the country.

He noted that so far Shangombo has received a face lift with projects that include schools, health posts and roads among others.

Mr. Njeulu said the PF government has also increased the number of vulnerable people both the aged, youths and children accessing social cash transfer through the department of Social Welfare saying the development has improved the living conditions of people in villages.

He further told the people that for first time since independence the PF government has successfully facilitated the process of connecting Shangombo to national electricity grid, access to the national broadcaster through radio one and two and that it will also soon have cross border trade with Angola through the Shangombo- Rivungu canal.

Mr. Njeulu is accompanied on the campaign trail by Western Province PF Acting Publicity secretary Captain Lawrence Nyambe, PF Shangombo District Political Secretary Dominic Simuchinga and UPND Simu Ward Councillor Dominic Shomeno among others.

    • @ Belcas

Development is always in stages.. PF focused more on remote areas for starters.. They are coming to Lusaka, its only been 3 years for crying out loud! Look at what u have accomplished in 3 years as an individual and reflect. These guys have done a tremendous job in such a short time.. Give commendation where it is deserved, you loose nothing. I am not PF neither am I UPND, but i will commend anyone who works hard. So far I have nothing commend UPND for..

    • “Speaking when he addressed a mammoth gathering…” LT your obsession with the word mammoth without understanding the meaning is disgusting. Shangombo has one of the smallest populations in Zambia and yet you insist on using that word. Your reporters have very limited vocabulary.

    • Ba Suntwe – it is relative to the population of Shangombo – you are obviously not thinking a Mandebvu-type crowd in Shangombo, right?

    • When HH ferried rallies is described mammoth UPND hired laptop key pushers yell Aleisa Aleisa. When it is opposition that gets voluntary participants, they question the credibility of the best online media. Viva EL.

    • I was recently in Shangombo and i can’t remember the roads, schools and clinics developed. The road Chiluba put was in bad state. People during my visit were all talking of HH. It seems PF is teaching every one to tell lies. (The plane Lungu was to use to Mbala had developed a fault and yet Lungu was outside Zambia. Big lie)

  1. They forgot to say he is a minister also, that explains his action. There is need for balance not just structures. We just witnessed a lot of issues getting ignored like the economy, farming, medicine, inflation. PF has created this illusion of structures is all we need, when majority of people live in deplorable houses and have no access to basic needs.

  2. what an mp who join the sinking boat.Pf wil go down in the history pages as the only party to rule 3 yrs only. in chiengi hav failed to electrify ponde sec, tar the road and provide medical staff at distr hosp, its hh chabe and all civil servants ar in support.

  3. Hey if one is bringing the beacon home so be it. As a citizen and MP what ever his name is entitled to endorse who he chooses. Good luck to you mr mp. Hope the voters of your constituency are wiser than u. No hard feelings. That’s how democracy works. Some people will bet on a loosing horse.

  4. Lungu and PF, we have done and we want to continue doing it. HH we shall do. what are you going to do becoz your friends are doing it. HH stop using our police ask them what they were geting in MMD and what they are geting in PF.

  5. @Charlemagne
sorry to say but may you are in the states coz of PF but to me personally and my people our life have deteriorated so much during these guy’s reign and i have been around since Kaunda’s time and Sata at civic center. If anything our standards are diminishing to 1930s Lusaka. If you have benefited from these guys pls dont tell me about development in Z bcoz I know about the corruption there. Two universities are being built in Muchinga province while the more developed southern and others has non and going back the dack ages. Pls am Zambian I know these guys and the system thats why we need a virgin away from Kaunda People – new blood. Its a new dawn only go forward HH2015. Look at Kenya, Rwanda, pls wake up its the 21st Century

  6. 19 days remaining officially for illiterate PF’s historical record to rule for roughly 3years only! Its really happening & we are seeing PF’ Lungu & RB to be in debts after borrowing heavily from their so called friends & Boko-criminals. Zambia at a Islamic crossroads under Lungu. On the other side- ABC’s PF & his cronies must pay the loans that they borrowed recklessly as Odious Debts for we the majority sufferers & tax payers fail to see any discernible & tangible development done under these very very huge sums of monies.

  7. THIS SITE IS BECOMING **** DAY BY DAY. THIS IS ACTUALLY NONSES. TO HELL WITH YOUR CHAKOLWA. THIS ELECTION IS ALREADY SEALED. WHEATHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT HH ALEISA ALEISA. YOU THINK WE CAN BE DECEIVED BY THE WORD MAMMOTH. YOU ARE ACTUALLY ABUSING THE WORD

  8. politics of the stomach the man has seen that pamfwa fintu pf is losing and he is losing the job lets go HH 20 th January 2015

  9. This will be Hh’s worst year- the year he’ll finally retire to tend to his cattle and the year Gary’ll ascend to the helm of upnd and remove the tribal selective tarnish image- meanwhile 2015 welcomes His Excellency Edgar Lungu as Zambia’s Sixth President. Viva PF!

    • It baffles me to see these people who seem to be more’ educated’ than everyone else failing to acknowledge that the party’s votes have been declining in the past three elections? You must work hard to win the votes of the so called illiterate because they do count.
political parties should also practically demonstrate to the voters how to cast a vote in favour of a particular candidate because I find it unacceptable for a constituency to record more than 100 spoiled ballots.

  10. You are joking , Poniso & Councillor will be fine laughing all the way to PF -State House. Fintu umwene. No dreaming like our friends in the other parties.

Right on Poniso and thanks. New adminstration block, hospital etc.

    Vote EL chabeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  11. @Adviser, so if the population is 200 and you have 130 people in attendance, then to you this is mammoth? The word mammoth is not used relatively. Something simply has to be huge to be mammoth.

  12. Honourable Njeulu is a real man and us in Western province have great respect for him.He has bought meanigful development to us his people….opposing all the time for what ? EL is the man !

  13. Edgar Lungu is the only candidate so far who will push zambia ahead, others are just power angry and leap servicing. Micheal chose him to act due to his potential in political administrative gimmicks.
When you are chosen by God no weapon shall defeat you. People will vote for EL not for any cause but for the massive works PF have so far achieved in this short space of time. They cannot finish all the assignments but they have made it, its unprecedented.

  14. Njeulu is a deputy minister in Pf Govt but a UPND MP. Not surprising. He has tasted power and thinks shangombo alone will maintain his status. Wind of change in a Christian nation coming as more Pf and MMD MPs are moving forward. 19 days to go!

  15. People vote with what they see not empty promises if they have seen some change , let them go for it is not about papers but action who hasn’tseen what form 2 did in three years yes he was matchless it is some thing to talk about for years to come

  16. the wind of change is stronger than yo thinking dear and u will be shocked for the first time in yo life and I pray that u don’t collapse on 22nd jan

  17. The wind of change is strong in the upnd toilets bcoz in mass voters homes or our streets almost everyone talks about Edgar Lungu winning and PF to continue in power!DANDY CRAZY IN HIS NEW SONG “KUBEBA” IS TELLING ALL PEOPLE THAT WHOEVER DOESNT KNOW THAT 2015 ELECTIONS ARE ABOUT CONTINUE THEN “NINSHI LIFONTINI”!Listen to this hit!HEY LOCAL MUSICIANS COMPOSE VERY HITS FOR PF MOSTLY DANDY CRAZY!HIS SONGS FOR PF ARE EVER NICE!GO EDGAR LUNGU GO!

  18. Mammoth rally? Work hard Hon Njeulu. You might lose your job on the 20th. Its really hot for HH and EL. You can’t predict.
