High Court dismisses Kasenengwa petition after petitioner was late by 10 minutes

High Court

THE Lusaka High Court has dismissed the Kasenengwa parliamentary election petition because the petitioner, Lenny Shonga, was late by 10 minutes when the matter came up for hearing in chambers.

The matter was expected to come up for continued hearing before Justice Florence Chisanga in chambers to determine whether Mr Shonga should be allowed to file the petition out of time in the High Court where he petitioned Kasenengwa member of Parliament (MP) Victoria Kalima and the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ).

According to a statement issued in Lusaka yesterday, Mr Shonga intended to petition Ms Kalima to have her election in the September 11, 2014 parliamentary by-election declared void.

  1. UBUPUBA BA SHONGA. THOSE MBUYAS FROM KASENENGWA LIKE “VICKY” AS WE USED TO CALL HER. SHE GOT OVER 10,000 VOTES IN THAT VILLAGE. SURELY DO YOU EXPECT HER TO LOSE EVEN THE THIRD ROUND?

  2. USELESS CHONGA WHY CANT HE JUST WAIT FOR 2016 GENERAL ELECTIONS TO CHALENGE HER THAN WASTING TAX PAYERS MONEY AGAIN & kasenengwa’s TIME. HE JUST LOST CLEAN IN BY ELECTION.
We need Deveropment not by elections always.

  3. These PF fagots behave like their leaders. The Chaps thinks the courts are like the Mulungushi Party conference were confusion was the order of the day.
This is the end of the political life for Shonga. He must be a nephew of Mpezeni because of the way he thinks in reverse.
