The alleged “sale” of the Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) to the Patriotic Front (PF) by Party president Dr. Nevers Mumba in return for a diplomatic posting to some South American country is total and absolute rubbish and should be dismissed with the utmost contempt it deserves.
On 28th February 2015, The Zambian Watchdog published a story containing these wild unfounded allegations that are clearly authored by known enemies of the MMD who are hell bent on distracting the party leadership from the current good progress we are making in bringing order and sanity to MMD after recent challenges.
President Edgar Lungu and Dr. Mumba have not held any discussion related to any diplomatic appointment and this is a complete fabrication.
The talks on a possible working relationship between the PF and the MMD have not been hidden but the nation has been kept informed on what is going on and both the MMD National Secretary Hon. Mwansa Mbulakulima, the MMD Party Spokesperson Mr. Raphael Nakacinda and the PF Secretary General Mr. Davies Chama have all made reference to these discussions and have clarified that nothing concrete has been agreed so far.
However, the nation needs to be informed that when matters are concluded in whatever fashion, the MMD will give a comprehensive statement. As is the culture in the party, no decision will be made one way or the other without full consultation with all our structures and the grassroots to ensure that we all have a common and agreed position.
Dr Mumba’s main preoccupation right now is the ongoing reorganization of the party. The correct approach for any media house is to verify such stories with us and we are always ready to clear the air.
We urge all Zambians, particularly the MMD structures countrywide, to ignore and dismiss this malicious story because it is a complete fabrication only intended to prolong the destabilization of the party and in no way represents the truth.

Nevers is known for his hunger for power. He ditched his National Christain Coalition Party over a vice-president position offered by Mwananwasa, where he was within months publicly dumped for talking rubbish about Moses Katumbi. Knowing that Rupiah is back as MMD president in 2016 he is now rumoured to have dumped the MMD for a job as an ambassador to some South American country. How cheap, Nevers!

Mumba is a failure , and i just wondered why MMD had given him a position when he is a failure. He uses others to get what he wants, he formed a party and went to get a job as VIP and other members remained chola boys and girls when him was enjoying. Now he has sold MMD for either money or position. Why didnt he expel Kaingu, and that other boy?
