The ruling PF has summoned its Kasama Central MP Geoffrey Mwamba to appear before its disciplinary committee.
In a letter dated 4th March 2015 by PF Disciplinary Committee Chairman Tutwa Ngulube, Mr Mwamba has been requested to appear before the committee at 11 Hours failure to which disciplinary proceedings will commence even in his absence.
Mr Ngulube said he has decided to hear Mr Mwamba in person because all the efforts to get a written response from the MP have proved futile as his lawyers Mushipe & Associates have written back to the party that Mr Mwamba will not respond.
In the letter copied to PF President Edgar Lungu and Secretary General Davis Chama, Mr Ngulube has recounted that on 3rd March Mr Mwamba was for the fourth time given 48 hours to respond but his lawyers said he would not do so.
The Kasama MP is facing charges of gross misconduct and bringing the name of the party and party President into disrepute.
This follows Mr Mwamba’s decision to campaign for UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema in the January 20 presidential election.
