Mine Police plots quick Super League return

Demoted Chililabombwe club Konkola Mine Police are plotting a quick return to the FAZ Super League.

Mine Police will this season compete in Division One North after their three-year Super League stint ended when they were demoted last season.

Club chairman Gideon Mwenya said Mine Police does not deserve to play in the second tier of Zambian football.

“I think we do not belong to Division One and we are planning to come back to the Super League quickly,” Mwenya said.

“After demotion we have gone back to the drawing board. We want positive results,” he said.

Mine Police have just engaged Peter Tembo as interim coach after releasing Bruce Mwape at the end of the 2014 season.

Tembo is being assisted by veteran striker Chileya Chipulu.

  1. Chair, its not possible for the team to bounce back in ZPL without a head coach. We know Peter Tembo as an administration Manager for a team.
Chileya has pre maturely retired from active football.
