11. This battle has been set to be won by EL but will he win the war? It’s a pity Zambia is daily preoccupied with power positioning. RB once disclosed to a group of confidants how he hates his cousins, the Bemba. He hated the idea the colluded enmass to hound him out of power instead of partnering to keep away the Tonga from power. Now that he has am opportunity to exercise what he did not do when in power, he will trash the Bemba people from proximity of power. How will the Bemba react? Will they let EL go into next election? As this happens, the economy is doing badly, missed opportunities!

Surprisingly as it may seem now the Bembas and the Tongas worked together to have Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe elected as Vice President of UNIP and subsequently became Republican Vice President at the expense of Reuben Kamanga. The Easterners refused to recognise Kapwepwe as Vice President and in frustration left UNIP to form his own party. The frustrations he went through under Kenneth Kaunda, such as being manhandled by marketeers, are well documented.

14. The problem is these tribunals sit for so long that the next election will be upon us before they realease thier findings. Ultimately justice will be done and they will not find enough impropriety to actually initiate criminal proceedings. Nchito will be paid back his salary and arrears end up in private practice and get even richer. The accusations and evidence as presented in the press are scanty at best. Nchito will walk and the tax payers will foot his bill.

29. I have noted with dismay that Zambians comment a lot on political subjects and not on developmental subjects. I am sure there will be a lot talked about this tribune and ECL’s perceived tribalism. ECL has done a lot of political changes but has remained conspicuously silent on developmental projects i.e. infrastructure development. The infrastructure development projects such as the KK international Airport and virtually most road construction projects have stalled and we need to be told that we have run out of money or we have changed our priorities and the emphasis is now on the cartel. The PF ace card was infrastructure and I do not mind whether the cat is black or white(ECL tribalism) so long as it catches mice (infrastructure development). Come 2016 this is how I will judge the PF.

But I hope Zambians will not be carried away by EL to the extent that they allow him another term in office.     -RB like the late Chiluba will be let loose

    -The tribunal will not even lead to Nchito being prosecuted but will recommend that Nchito be removed from his position
    -Nchito will be paid full benefits and will even be richer

    What an interesting country with tribunals with some justices who were once accused of corruption.

38. I thank the Almighty God for redeeming the people of Zambia from the ruthless CROOKS. Now that Nchito has been suspended, tomorrow I will buy the best wine to celebrate the demise of the CARTEL Mmembe and Mutembo Nchito considered themselves above the Law. They used all sorts of tricks to evade Justice and harassed the innocent. Our K14 Billion must be retrieved from this set of evil men.

    Members of the Tribunal are very respectable men of the Bench.

    I wonder what sort of nightmares will run through the minds of the cartel that tried to block Lungu’s Presidency. The Immigration Dept must seal-off the borders to offset notable crooks escaping the noose. It is high time Zambia’s sovereignty must be restored. All men and women must be equal with regards to the laws of the land.

48. The outcome of this tribunal is already predetermined. The composition of the tribunal is not even tribally balanced. Three out of four are from ku mawa (Eastern province). This is another wako ni wako in action engineered by RB. Mr Nchito will be found guilty as charged.

The list is long and you know it. So there is nothing tribal about this noble team.

      For your info, Chiluba was convicted and died as convicted person. That RB, Sata (RIP) and now Lungu are not allowing Ruling of the English High Court to be registered has resulted in USD 48 million loss to the People of Zambia.

49. Please, somebody enlighten me – facts, not arguments:
    Why is there a need for the President of Zambia to appoint somebody to act as President, whenever he leaves the country for a few hours or days?

    What then is the role of the Vice President? Is not a ‘Vice’ anywhere and in any organisation the person who assists the President (or chairperson), and automatically acts on his behalf while he is away?

    • In this case, the Vice President is equally out of the country, hence the need to appoint someone else to act.

    • @IVO the vice president is in New York on official duties. Please widen your scope of reading and get to know what is happening around the world. Don’t restrict your reading to Chagwa.

50. During Sata’s time the Vice President Guy Scott was barred by the constitution to be President and could therefore not act as President. From now onwards Mrs Wina will act automatically as President unless she is not around as is the case now.
