    • Why South Africa? Can’t your hospitals in Zambia with all the expertise sort you out? I did’t think so!!!! so what about the masses????

    • Abhorrent headlines to come across elsewhere on the internet. It’s rather too soon and too close to our recent past!

    • This is why I will not stop drinking, I avoid to trigger things which has been lying in the body.
Edgar should have been has honesty as he is now as a patient, disclosing everything. He could have told Zambians that he lives and survive because of beer, therefore be allowed to work under influence of alcohol.
So sad that Edgar has to resign.

  1. Go well Mr president. Wish you the best treatment. What I will say hurts but I will. Mr President you need to stand down for the sake of your health. The cadres will lead you to your early grave because they want jobs. The presidence is very demanding.

    • Most useless comment I have ever come across on LT. No meaning, no direction and yu call others tribal it’s, SHAME!

  2. Wish you well Mr.Lungu but I think it is high time government thought about creating a centre of excellence in treating certain complications rather than rushing all the time to South Africa! Government can even consider partnering with the Private Sector to come up with one or two state of the art hospitals to deal with complicated cases so that we can keep part of our money here and motivate our highly skilled health workers to stay home and practice at such institutions! How can all the hospitals fail to determine whether the ailment requires an operation or mere medication and yet we had a big team of Doctors attending to the President at a Military Hospital which we heard recently had received modern equipment??We need to get serious!!

    • Calculating monies spent on treating high profile in South Africa and elsewhere in the world could be as good as either building modern and well equipped hospitals or equipping the existing ones with hi-tec equipment. We are all made in God’s image and as such need healthier life as much as high profile people do. Lets not only be remembered when our votes are dearly needed.

  3. @Hajanika. I support your advice to the president though painful. He may decide to push on until 2016 or probably just step down, not only for his health but for the health of the country.

  4. Please bring us some fuel when you come back. Otherwise hunger will rule the day. Also please find ut if RSA can help us with the Kwacha situation.

  5. Can someone explain this a Lozi is Vice President but she is not allowed to be Acting President and then they say we are the tribalists?

  6. It’s embarrassing for the President to publicly state going for “specialized treatment”. This means Zambia’s health system has failed to live up to its expectations. What a country I come from and yet we keep on voting for such caliber leaders to rule. What do you expect?

  7. Excellent move. Any human being is not a machine. Especially with the hard work ECL is performing, fatigue, stress, or simple dehydration can be expected. So, yes go and recover so that Zambians can enjoy your swagger some more. VIVA ECL and God bless!!!!

  8. ZWD and their pay master Sunny Chintombwa must stop talking about our president.

Why must we be ashamed of being ill, everyone will die one day including you hamasaka and himaambo.

  9. What have the jealous Bembas done to our dear eastern president?

Don’t poison our valued eastern son nyie majambazi na wakora wa bemba nation or else….

  10. This constant running out of the country for medicals by the apamwambas ,at taxpayers expense must stop……..
    This is ridiculous!!
you mean UTH Does not have an Endoscopy Center after 50years of independence?

  11. We need a leader who will put an end to this nonsense of politicians gong to RSA and India for medication. This is where I respect KK. all the money they waste going to RSA and for politicians to go to the airport to see the president off and welcome back could have been used to improve our hospitals. Zambia has been cursed by visionless presidents
