Vice President Inonge Wina in Livingstone for the Association of African Public Commissions

Vice President Inonge Wina has arrived in Livingstone ahead of the official opening of the Fourth General Assembly of the Association of African Public Commissions tomorrow.

The Zambia Air Force plane carrying the Vice President arrived at Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula international airport at 11:55 hours.

Mrs Wina was received at Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula international airport by Secretary to the Cabinet Roland Msiska, Southern Province Minister Nathaniel Mubukwana, Livingstone Acting District Commissioner Harriet Kawina and other senior government officials.

According to a programme made available to ZANIS by the District Commissioners office, Mrs Wina is today expected to inspect the international bus terminus, ultra-modern market and the Nurses hostels at Livingstone central hospital.

Meanwhile, Vice President Wina says the hosting of the Fourth General Assembly of the Association of African Public Commissions is key to improving service delivery to the people of Zambia.

Mrs Wina said it is delighting to see Zambia hosting the continental conference.

The Vice President explained at the airport that the Fourth General Assembly of the Association of African Public Commissions is responsible for ensuring that government institutions deliver service to the citizenry.

And speaking earlier, Southern Province Minister Nathaniel Mubukwana told the Vice President that the province was stable and government programmes were being implemented accordingly.

In the same address Mr Mubukwana disclosed that 17 people died in the early hours of today in a road accident in Mazabuka district.

He further revealed that the vehicle involved in the accident was coming from Lusaka going to unidentified destination.

Later a moment of silence was observed in honour of the 17 victims.

The Vice-President is accompanied by her Senior Private Secretary Ambassador Sheila Siwela and Lusaka Provincial Minister Obvious Mwaliteta.

  1. I love Mama Wina. She is as humble and kind as was her late husband Arthur Wina, my boss in 80s. I wish her to take over presidency in 2021 when President Lungu retires.

      Zambians have moved away from having ancient politicians for their Presidents. Arthur Wina was your boss in the 80’s but this is 2015. Your preferred generation will never rule Zambia ever again!
