FORMER Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ) general secretary Violet Sampa-Bredt was yesterday put to rest at Lusaka’s Makeni suburb.

The burial service was attended by First Lady Esther Lungu, Minister of Transport, Works, Supply and Communication Yamfwa Mukanga, CCZ general secretary Suzanne Matale and hundreds of other mourners.

The church service was held at the United Church of Zambia (UCZ) St Paul’s congregation in Kabwata.

Rev Sampa-Bredt, who was also former Patriotic Front Chawama member of Parliament, died last Sunday in Germany where she was being treated for cancer.

She was a lawmaker from 2006 to 2011 and was the first female to serve as CCZ general secretary.

  1. Dozens if not more Zambian virgins has been sexually abused by UCZ choir master named Donald Lubinda as a result got pregnant with his bastard children.

In LSK’s Villa Elizabetha, there is a UCZ- KBBK member who runs a Shabeen and brothel..

  2. We mourn Violet Sampa Bredt for her selflessness in serving others
    -MHSRP

May the Lord comfort members of her family at this difficult time. But, we also ask when was the state funeral declared?
Zambians would want to honor sons and daughters who have contributed selflessly as servants to fellow Zambians.
Late Nsanda was given state funeral despite a plethora of ill gotten wealth with corruption at RDA and unexplained huge cash found at his house more than that K2 billion found with Austin Liato buried at his farm. Rev. Bredt Sampa served Zambians much more than thieving PF cadres such as Kambwili. Sampa deserved state funeral.
    Where are Zambian moral values?

  3. What is wrong with Lungu’s family? Esther Lungu can be seen laughing uncontrolably at the funeral in the last picture! Isnt that supposed to e time for mourning and not laughing??

So who is going to teach young Zambians good morals if Old Ar.s.es like Esther Lungu can be laughing publicly at funerals?

She should not have gone to the funeral if she didnt want to? Is it because her husband grabbed the seat from Sampa Bredt? Amahule naena bane! Kaya!

  4. Yes she deserved a state funeral. She was one of those who fought their rights in church to be female Rev,first lady CCz female secretary general and PF member of parliament. She deserved state funeral more than Willie Nsanda.Shame on PF government.Do not recognise corrupt people and leaving out servants of the people.May God comfort her family.

  5. Those children of Bredt looks like quadruplets, balipalana ama guys. Unfortunately none of them can be president of Zambia.

  6. Bredt Sampa’s picture would speak more volumes than having
Ba Esther appear more than needed… und Cosmos

Woman of substance, rest in peace and intercede for your family and the people of Zambia.
