Government committed to taking health care close to people

Government says it is committed to taking health care facilities as closer to the people in the country as possible.

Northern Province Minister Freedom Sikazwe said this during the commissioning of a new health center and a semi-detached housing units for workers in Chief Chungu’s area in Luwingu district yesterday.Mr Sikazwe explained that government was aware of the fact that many people were lacking quality health care services in Luwingu District. He said it is against this background that it has constructed and commissioned a health post in order to alleviate many health care challenges people were facing in the area.

Meanwhile the Deputy Minister in the office of the Vice President Bwalya Chungu donated mattresses and some linen to the newly opened clinic.Mr Chungu who is also Lupososhi Member of Parliament called on the community to guard the facilities jealously if they are to fully benefit from it.

And speaking at the same event Senior Chieftainess Chungu of the Mukulu people thanked the government for opening the long awaited health post in her chiefdom.The Chieftainess said she was very happy for the continued developmental projects government were undertaking in her area.
