First Lady Esther Lungu has urged Zambians to make God the centre of their daily lives and activities.

Mrs Lungu said it is important that society becomes and remains prayerful as a Christina nation and to Iive godly lives.

The First Lady gave a moving testimony of how prayer has strengthened the first family and blessed their lives.

“For us, scripture has a strong bearing on our life. God is great and mighty, he does miraculous things. Sometimes when we wake up, we wonder if we are in state house,” she said.

She said god has blessed her family exceedingly that her family has still remained in awe.

Mrs Lungu was speaking when she attended church service at the Pentecostal Assemblies of God Zambia Trinity Praise Cathedral in Chipata today.

The First Lady asked the church to pray for the first family and the nation so that government works ably to provide the needs of the people.

Mrs Lungu implored the church to continue complementing government by providing social services to communities in order to lessen the suffering of people.

The First Lady said society must embrace orphans to help curb and address the problem of street kids.

Mrs Lungu said Zambians who make up and espouse to be a Christian nation should not stigmatise and discriminate persons with disabilities.

The First Lady is in eastern province to assess women empowerment programmes and reach out to the vulnerable, disabled and aged in society.

    • Pleased to hear this testimony. Woe to those whose hearts and conscious have closed up to his Deity. Many of us with all the quality high education amazingly rewarding an,d the best technology and business suites we find ourselves characterized with, we know that God exists and its he who hides some ideal in every human soul. At some time in our lives we feel a trembling, fearful longing to do some good things which we do against human arrogance. Take or leave it, life finds its noblest spring of excellence in this hidden impulse to do our best. All said, our fervent player is, all God, teach us to treat all that comes to us with peace of soul and
with firm conviction that You will govern all in us and about us.

We interceed for leadership that you may Govern with unparalled wisdom.

    • *God does miraculous things. Sometimes when they wake up they wonder if they are in State House.*

It is indeed a miracle. You forgot how your husband was ordering planks to feed violence during the past presidential election.

The only miracle your god has done is allow you to be in state house. Go tell somebody who lost their eye in the cadre clashes, the parents who lost their son, and more importantly, ask your god to order your husband to release the information about who killed Ruth Mbandu Okay?

    • Oh God, help human mind know that envy is one of the great enemies of active spirituality. It keeps us from loving our neighbours, those you have appointed and annointed for leadership. It keeps us from functioning properly with others in community or power, and from affirming people’s unique worth. It also steals contentment from the heart of peace. May those who are hating others recast their lives because there is no peace, happiness or future in envy and hatred. Life is a moving target you cannot afford to live in envy and bitterness for the duration of God’s given manadate to his chosen ones. Its time to co-exist and choose to differ morally on issues and policies without signing up to personal hatred and all vices bred out of envy and bitterness. Such vices do not attract Grace.

    • Mrs Esther Lungu: A real & exemplary First Lady in many years – no glamour, just real and so Zambian, we love you madam!!!!!

    • You DO realize that believing in a big-daddy-in-the-sky that loves you but will punish you with eternal torment is truly insane?

  1. Really laughable…when are Africans going to wake up from their docility…this declaring of Zambia as a Christian nation is a tool that only suits politicians…look at the corruption scandals over the years; how many leaders have ever served lengthy terms in prison for stealing our money? Madam first lady you are urge Zambians to put God first when your lazy husband is encouraging corruption and rubbing shoulders with corrupt elements like Banda.

  2. “Mrs Lungu said it is important that society becomes and remains prayerful as a Christina nation and to Iive godly lives.”

And you wonder why Africa is poor with such mindsets.

    • Do you know that Chrostianity encourages, hard work, study, enterprise and wisdom. Look at Solomon, not his libido side but his technical prowess. Joseph, Daniel in the Old Testament. What is your religious and cultural heritage if I may ask? If not a personal stance. Before you shoot down greatness open your brain reality. Israel is under God and prospering, because the study their religion and history. Africans have mixed in nonsensical cultures doctrines into God’s word and work ethic. So think about it before brinh out your guns against a beautiful God sent people of Zambia. Shoot down our nincompoop politicians.

      Viva President Nawakwi.

  3. distributing foodstuffs only in pf strongholds is un christian. Pf has continued with its selectiveness in sharing of the national cake. Opposition leaders are being humiliated and called all sorts of names. Lead by example and stop the hatred for other tribes.

  4. The only reason you believe all of that crap is because someone else told you what to believe and you are too stoopid to question it.

  5. Nanga munaleka kumwa booba ba madam? I know this lady when she was running a saloon, She drinks a lot! Now she is preaching! Wonders shall never end!

  6. Earthly kingships are just temporary things as is your sojourn in State House. Please, Set you sights on heaven. We are all heirs and our inheritance is eternal. So Mrs First Lady, Esther, one day you will wake up and you won’t be in State House, but you will be in hell. What will you do then??????

    • Illiteracy and Ignorance is what destroy’s Africa.

Man Made Religions are the cause of all the problems we face today in the world…why because religion today is full of nothing but stoopidity. The so-called leaders of the world use religion as a tool to control the masses and the sad thing is that, YOU the stoopid men and women of today continue to follow them like Mary’s little lambs.
