ZAMTEL says it is determined to empower its subscribers with assets that promote financial independence.

Chief Marketing Officer Evans Muhanga says ZAMTEL seeks to promote a spirit of entrepreneurship among its clients.

He said this during the launch of the Nonka Nonka nationwide promotion in which one of its mobile subscribers stands to win a brand new tipper truck worth 6-hundred thousand Kwacha.

Mr Muhanga said the winner could add value to the asset by leasing it or hiring it out for construction works.

The promotion includes daily cash prizes. The total cost of the 90 day promotion is three million Kwacha.

  1. This clowns, after failing to manage most successful business, now they are offering “financial independence” to theirs suffering subscribers whilst desperately looking to borrow another 300 million dollars with the Bank of Zambia guarantee?

    • Funny that in this day and age companies still throw such outdated 1960s marketing strategies…you want to promote entrepreneur spirit offer deals to businesses in form of tariff packages; you could have used that truck money to invest in smartphones to offer freely corporate clients like NGOs and International Companies to tie them to contracts and make more money in return for the business in the long term.

  2. This silly marketing manager should sacked ASAP for lack of creativity, its no wonder this company is not making a profit too many empty suits on payroll…if I was his boss I would get rid of him and his team very quickly…he might as well put an Aircraft as a prize…is transport the only industry there is; that prize can quickly be a liability immediately the keys are handed over to the winner.

  3. @jay jay
Stop being jealousy ! What has the manager done to deserve being sacked ? You will never be one and the earlier you realize and be a better citizen the better.

    • The auditors General reports indicate that marketing cost increased while sale reduced, Its cost of such managesr that companies make losses, so he deserves to be fired yes. this promotion is way outdated. its even better he gives out free smartphones on contract to be lock them to zamtel with this money he is wasting on this truck, but again it looks Chinese, how much is it by the way, it might be the price of Iphone 6

    • Ba Joe,
We are clearly not on the same page, when are we going to end this cadre narrow tunnel vision mindset ..please this is not personal I don’t even know this boy; let’s look at the bigger picture – tax payer’s money is used to oil this company given it recording losses in a very profitable sector and that they want to even go onto the market and take out a $300m loan in my grandchildren’s name…AND I am happy where I am and doing great..thank you!
