The first lady handing out presents for what? what message do you send to people by handing them 25kgs bags of maize meal? Handing out shoes to school kids instead of books… You merely promoting dependence and laziness…this should be named PF Outreach Programme sponsored by taxpayers.
Great works! Psalms 41:1, In the psalms of King David, You Lord God, bless everyone who cares for the poor, and you rescue those people in times of trouble. The ecclesiastic works of Mama Lungu is splendid and immeasurable. It is practical social justice which Jesus Christ on earth lived doing and tasked his followers never to abandon. Keep tanding with the needy in society. It is the over-riding theme of generations real christians ought be doing.
To all opposing this noble work, Amos 5:11-12 explicitly reminds us never to rob the poor of justice.
Bravo Mama Lungu! You have the solidarity of the conscious human souls.
Jay Jay. Just go an line up to see the Royal family since you have nothing else to do but post rubb!sh on this site.
@Jay Jay,
The narrative that a morally conscious society should not care for the needy among them is not only sadistic, but repugnant if not said out of protruding ignorance and hatred for the poor. If you know the precepts of Christ, i direct you to Isaiah 3:14-15, Amos 5:11-12 and Matthew 25:31-46. It’s no surprise that the black captures Jesus emphasizing care of the poor in society in about 170 statements. It was a core issue to his heart and teachings.
This idea of handing out stuff is bad and a sign of low thinking level among our leaders. It’s a shame for the first lady to be in the forefront doing that. Why is it in poor countries that we think working and showing love to the people is to handout stuff? Empower the people buy creating job opportunities. Creating wealth and entrepreneurs instead of beggars.
Distinguished gentlemen,
I see brother Jay’s point. Nothing personal against the first Lady. But let’s be serious. It would be fóolhardy of any of us to think that she took some cash from her joint bank account with her husband ka Lungu. No sir, this money is tax payer money. So ok, she takes taxpayers’ money, gives it to some women at the market in exchange for bags of mealie meal and some produce. Then she smiles for the camera as she hands over those goods to the locals. Then after the all the theatrics have been attended to, she and her entourage hops on to the waiting choppers and they fly away. Come on, this is a charade.
Who is paying for these chopper rides??
I am sure the costs would have covered 2 students from each place the first lady has visited through to uni.
People of goodwill like you and i are covering these operational costs. Where you contribute US $10k, i put US $5k and 100 more people of same compassion donates US $2K, the first lady will be able to expand her outreach programs in some seemless ways. Let’s support her.
I really don’t mind these first lady types going around doing these good deeds for the camera. If a child is saved, that child doesn’t care whether her/his life was saved because there was a camera nearby. As long as they do not an “Imelda Marcos”. A first lady who was known for good deeds to the poor even as she stole millions and millions of dollars from her impoverished country.
Same as that other crook TB Joshua. He donates $1million to charity so he can justify asking for $10million from his flock.
It is so refreshing to see a first lady who does not have a perpetually condescending and false smile on her face.
So refreshing to see Bana Talisa in her elements … Around the vegetable stalls!
Well done ma’am. We are proud of you.
