Davies Chama shocked at PF MP Luxon Kazabu’s bailing out of a UPND cadre

Share

President Edgar Lungu confers with Secretary General of Patriotic Front Davies Chama before he paid a courtesy to Chief Matebo of the Kaonde people from Solwezi West.

THE Patriotic Front (PF) is shocked with its Nkana Member of Parliament Luxon Kazabu who yesterday joined the United Party for National Development (UPND) in bailing out its cadres who were arrested along with Chongwe Member of Parliament Sylvia Masebo for conducting an illegal political procession.

PF secretary general Davis Chama said Mr Kazabu had exposed himself for who he truly was by helping the UPND cadres be released from police custody by joining the UPND MPs in signing bonds for the suspects.

Mr Chama has challenged Mr Kazabu to openly declare his loyalty to the opposition political party instead of using the name of PF to conduct political activities for the UPND.

Mr Chama said the decision by Mr Kazabu to stand as a guarantor for the law breaking UPND cadres expressively showed his allegiance to the opposition political party.

He said all those thinking the PF was a sinking ship and wanted to jump were free to do so stating that the PF had adequate human resource and would therefore not run after traitors,

“This is actually surprising, but again it is revealing his true colours and his allegiance to the opposition party. If he (Kazabu) can go to sign bail for the law breaking UPND cadres, he is just trying to expose himself for who he truly is. Let him go,” Mr Chama said.

Mr Chama was commenting on the decision by the PF Nkana law maker who yesterday volunteered to be a sponsor of one of the 17 UPND cadres who were arrested last week for public misconduct.

The 17 UPND cadres were arrested by police last week along with Chongwe MP Sylvia Masebo after conducting an illegal procession along Independence Avenue soon after Ms Masebo appeared at the Magistrate court on charges of abuse of authority of office.

The cadres were each given K5000 bail with two working sureties, and several MPs including UPND’s Kaoma Central MP Carlos Antonio, Villie Lombanya of Solwezi East and their Sesheke counterpart Sianga Siyauya.

PF Nkana Parliamentarian Luxon Kazabu joined the UPND MPs in signing for the release of the 17 cadres.

The cadres have been charged with unlawful procession after they attempted to walk from the Magistrate Courts in Kabwata to Ibex Hill through Independence Avenue in solidarity with the Chongwe law maker after attending her court session in a matter before the Magistrates Court.

Mr Chama said the PF would carry out investigations to understand what could have compelled Mr Kazabu to join the UPND MPs in bailing out its cadres.

Mr Chama said he was reluctant to comment further on the matter but would rather wait for next year to see who would be a true and patriotic member of the ruling party.

Yesterday, 17 UPND cadres arrested along side Ms Masebo were granted bail and released from custody pending court hearing next week.

    • Mr Chama said “the PF would carry out investigations to understand what could have compelled Mr Kazabu to join the UPND MPs in bailing out its cadres”. So, why is this man saying all those things about Hon. Kazabu? Why should you investigate when you’ve already made up your mind. Yaba!

  1. Many more have realised that party means no good for Zambia and are going to abandon you. Ask Kaunda he remained with Grey Zulu when the hour of reckon came

  2. Every politician who has taken Zambians for granted has lived to regret…. the wind is blowing and only you can not feel it

  3. Ba Chama please. These pipo are inn0cent till proven guilty why are you calling them lawbreakers. These are issues you should keep to yourself instead of embarrassing yourself.Your president is calling for reconciliation and you are issuing such statements.Ask yourself what value do you bring to PF?Anyway come to think of it these are the pipo the nation right now need to surround Edgar including Kambwili,Mumbi Phiri, and the like to make our work of dspatching them easier.

  4. May be that is a relative, how can you shocked . My wife last general election voted UPND ,I voted PF my elder brother MMD.
Zambians ,we are one . Do not be blinded by these media houses.

  5. Mr Chama you do not have the least political intelligence to grab the oppertunity York show the voter, that your MP is actually showing humility to help release a Zambian. You could have won political mileage by commending your MP, for extending his help to a Zambian citizen who has probably been dragged into politics due to unemployment and poverty.

However this is way far above your capacity. For you politics is a boxing game and not a game of minds and vision. You and many of you who think that the won who shouts loudest and kicks hardest will drop Lungu. But, he is also to blame because he is hiding behind the curtains and letting do what you want without his guidance even as an educated lawyer.

Your temporary throne will crumble under you and even the dirty money you…

  6. This Chama is a very dull chap. Zambia is bigger than PF. I may be PF but my family and friends may be UPND. Does this mean that I should never come to the aid of my family and friends? RB is MMD but he is helping Lungu. Grow up man. Your PF will not be there forever.

  7. Mr Chama you shot someone in the a$$ and you didnt see the back of a police cell. these guys were arrested for walking. give us a break please. some of these statements should be left to junior party members like your youth chairperson or whoever. oh alas!!!! i forgot sorry your youth chairperson is kambwili.

  8. Well obviously Kazabu knows that person he helped and we all know that those are trumped up charges against Masebo and those cadres. Chama must start using his brains when thinking other than just yapping. Besides it could be Kazabu’s relative who has a differently political affiliation. Do we really have to be enemies and stop helping the needy just because they belong to other political parties really?

  9. Now you put on your media has become a recruitment center for satanism. Lusaka times ,were can you see someone follow instructions and became millionaire ,friends be careful.

  10. Chama should not be surprised. 90% of UPND are Tongas and 90% of Tongas are UPND. Kazabu has already demonstrated that years ago even when he was Deputy Minister in PF Government. Any wonder why classified documents are leaking to the Post. It is UPNDP moles.

  11. Kazabu? Do we have such a person as Kazabu in PF? Who is he and what is he? I think we have better things to do than talk about such people like Kazabu! He doesn’t meaning anything to PF and may be not even his family.

  12. Hon Kazabu must not fear this mwachusa called chama but respond to he’s rantings.Chama is witch hunting so that people like Kazabu are hounded out of PF on flimsy reasons

  13. Iwe chi chama you gun carrier. You are in fact the law breaker and you should have been in jail for that shooting. Stop the rubbish of calling others law breakers. You are not the court to call others law breakers.

  14. The most hated people in PF Mumbi Phiri, Davies Chama, Kambwili, Amos Chanda and what happened to Kennedy Kamba? The bootlicker league! Oh not forgetting Bowman Lusambo of no man’s land! EL would’ve been a better person without these…..

    • Thank you. Someone else here that sees EL is a great leader, surrounded by Satas minions. Reason he is recruiting from MMD and UPND ranks. UPND cadres though seem not to be able to reason like their PF relatives.

  15. This boa, ulusat, mboma, known as Chama, is illogical. According to him people from one party should not associate with people from other parties.

  16. Has Chama forgotten that Kafwaya, a UPND member, was campaigning for a PF candidate in Solwezi? Talk of double standards.

  17. ITS NOT BOUT THE BOAT SINKING.IT ALL BOUT KAZABU HAVING NO PRINCIPLES.KAZABU WAS MMD DISTRICT CHAIR FOR KITWE,BUT APPLIED TO STAND ON UPND TICKET IN SOUTHERN PROVINCE IN 2001 UNDER MAZOKA.HE ONLY WITHDREW AFTER SUFFERING A MYSTERIOUS ILLNESS WHILE IN SOUTHERN PROVINCE.HE THEN JOINED FDD,BUT IN 2006 AGAIN ATTEMPTED TO STAND ON THE UDA,WHICH WAS AN ALLIANCE OF UPND,FDD AND UNIP.HH NEVER ADOPTED HIM AND SO HE QUIT POLITICS.IN 201O HE WENT BACK TO UPND,BUT WEN HE REALISED THE POLITICAL CLIMATE WAS IN FAVOUR OF PF, HE WNET AND PLEADED WITH SATA FOR ADOPTION IN NKANA CONSTITUENCY AND HE WAS ADOPTED,LEAVING THE PF PREFERD CANDIDATE.IN THE LAST PRESIDENTIAL BYE ELECTION,HE THOT PF WUD LOOSE,SO HE STARTED CAMPAIGNING FOR HH SECRETLY.WE USED TO MEET AT HIS PLACE IN KITWE PARKLANDS WERE HE WUD GIVE…

  18. @MK please. Everyone is free to contest and be affiliated with whichever party they feel like. They are a lot of PF MPs that do not approve of Lungu and some are cowards to tell him that what he is doing is wrong. There was nothing wrong with escorting Masebo. They did not harm anyone nor did they have intentions to do that. Do we surely need permission to walk in our own country? LUNGU MUST START PACKING HIS BAGS, HE IS A PROVEN FAILURE (PF) AND ALL HIS FELLOW PROVEN FAILURES (PF) LIKE THAT HIPPO KAMBWILI SHOULD PREPARE FOR EXIT.

  19. Chama got shocked because he did not expect a PF MP to go bail out UPND cadres who are accused of causing disorder in a country led by his party. It is natural but it also been reported that “Mr Chama said the PF would carry out investigations to understand what could have compelled Mr Kazabu to join the UPND MPs in bailing out its cadres.” So he is cautious as investigations may just show that the cadre he signed for is his relative! So let us not condemn Chama too much on this one. He is just being vigilant for his party.

  20. lol…. Davies!. By the way I am just watching National Geographic. When the Winter gets closer, the swallows start flying to warmer areas. Find time to read the Times of Zambia editions of 1990-1991 at national archives or better still take a weekend off to chat with Grey Zulu, Scott, VJ, Kavindele or Miyanda.

  21. Perhaps like Samson of Jewish history, Kazabu is now redeeming himself and avenging the suffering of Zambians under the intolerable and incompetent PF regime.

    • He is also a level headed person. He is one of those who gave PF a human face when he served as D/minister in MALI. Now we have real riffraffs and criminals in the name of Chimbwili, Dangerous Chanya, Kampyongo, Mbumbi ,Masumba, Kafwaye, Limatàa, and the list is endless. Haa!!!!

  22. Most people once relieved of their positions start campaigning against the appointing authorities. Parties like UPND was formed because of Mazoka’s disillusionment with MMD, FDD because its leaders were disillusioned with MMD and PF because of the late Sata’s disillusionment with MMD. Even UNIP was formed because of KK’s disillusionment with ANC. PF should be wary of its members like Kasavu who were not reappointed by Lungu. It is normal for people to be bitter was dropped from a position of “akalilo” and should not come as a surprise.

  23. When you look at the picture above, do you see any signs of wisdom on the two’s faces to even deserve the positions they hold? Thanks to Inonge Wina is all i can say. i rest my case.

  24. I love ba UPND, they are more vocal on Internet and empty and cry foul when it comes to elections. Wait and see with your bitterness. You will be chocking come 2016!!! We in PF are still popular and knows what is best for us because ba UPND are not consistent but rather all decisions are made by one person. Zambians will be voting en-mass come 2016 because PF is the only party that can take this country forward.

  25. Wow – iwe ka Chama – I am almost speechless with utter disbelief it is not even funny. LEAVE THE CITIZENS ALONE. Nanga ecosa ndalama za nyoko iwe mambala!? What if it is a son who is in UPND? Zambians, let’s move forward. This UNIP-infested behavior is not helping anyone at all. Intolerance is very dangerous. Some of our parents spent jail time during UNIP days because our relatives happened to be members of banned UPP and they were visiting us! Is this what you want to bring back you fo.ols!!! In the 21st Century iwe ci-Chama! USELESS!!!

  26. Kazabu is an elected official, of the people, by the people. An MP represents the whole of Zambia. Including the opposition. Davies Chama is not our MP, we could careless if the president fired him. We stand by our elected official on this one.

    Viva President Nawakwi.

  27. Hmm Rabies is a liability to PF… But then these days it’s very common for PF members to be blindly driving their own party boat over the waterfall. Ba Rabies why not first send one of your own close relatives to jail before shouting that others should do it? Better still, why not jail yourself first in order to protect the public?

  28. How dull can Mr Chama be??? How about Siamunene who is saving in his govt? and what about the spirit of reconciliation we are expected to pray for on the 18th of October, 2015 isn’t this part of the reconciliatory acts that are supposed to be practiced in the country, but obviously Chama understands his boss’ rantings better than all of us he knows the boss was hallucinating the batlle lines are drawn!!

  29. True statemanship in deed!!! Just like Jesus who had to come and pay for my wrong doings!!! Iyee, uyu ena namutemwa, he’s that Good Samaritan then Priests and the Pharisees are walking by talking trush.Love beyond politics, that’s what we need.Beyond partisan bounderies, there is every Zambian!!!!

  30. Kazabu has always been inconsistent and erratic. At one time he chickened out from standing for his then party, in his home-land constituency Katombola, on flimsy grounds.
