US Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson will visit Zambia on a week-long trip to the continent at the end of December.
Dr. Carson announced on Monday that he will also visit Nigeria and Kenya.
He told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt that he will visit Nigeria, Kenya and Zambia, in part because of the strategic importance of these regions and because of his own family ancestry.
Dr. Carson said his future policy is going to affect Africa, particularly the three countries because his ancestors are from the Kenya-Tanzania region, the Turkana tribe.
The retired surgeon added that he will visit Zambia to check in on two former patients — twins who were conjoined at the head before he helped separate them.
He says the twins were joined at the top of the head facing in opposite directions almost 18 years ago, and that this is the year they graduate from high school.
Ben has my blessing from My God he is the next president of USA.

I was a medical student the time the aforementioned twins were operated on.I must say I can’t recall if Dr.Carson was part of the team of sugeons or he was just consulted .I attended the medical seminar on the twins.I remember Dr.Lambert giving a presentation,and perhaps Dr.Chomba though I’m not sure.It was a brilliant presentation one of the best I had ever attended at UTH
I hope govt will not issue him with a visa. Zambia does not need rabid racists, even if they are black surgeons. Carson is a danger to society. He should never leave the USA ever, as he thinks America is everything. In the GOP race, he is a side freak show.

Dr. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy: You deliberately just can’t recall!! I equally attended the seminar you are talking about as a medical student and I also followed up the end result of the twins. The twins were eventually operated at Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto, SA. The local lead neurosurgeon (South African) was prof Mokgokong and Dr Carson flew in from the USA to coordinate the operation as the overall lead surgeon. Dr carson had earlier flew into Zambia (secretly as he didn’t want publicity that time) to discuss the case with Dr Lambert et al. Just last year prof Mokgokong was full of praises for Dr Carson as the two met in Pretoria to reminisce in the same difficult operation. You could have googled this info before expressing your skepticism here. Keep well though.

He says he will want to see Mr. Hichilema at a personal level and visit State House where the head of state is and share ideas on how Zambia and Africa can develop. And Mr. Hichilema says receiving such a public figure in the country should be well ultilised and the head of state should use the opportunity to woo other investors in the country. It is very well documented who the lead was for that operation and for you a doctor to be ignorant of it is very scary. I certainly would want to know you personally so that I can advise my relatives in Zambia which doctor not to visit.
