Patriotic Front youths in Lusaka this morning staged a solidarity match in support of President Edgar Lungu’s signing of the constitution bill scheduled for Tuesday next week at the Heroes Stadium.

PF member Kelvin Sampa said that all Zambians should support the President because he has now accorded every Zambian the constitution that has for a long time been debated on.

Mr. Sampa said that the move by the President to sign the constitution bill is a clear testimony of his commitment to what he promised Zambians during the campaigns.

Mr. Sampa was speaking in an interview with ZNBC news before the solidarity match.

And Lusaka PF youths have also denounced the use of violence in the tripartite elections but will foster to create unity and love not only in their political parties but also in the nation.

And Patrick Mungo added that it is important that PF youths continue to denounce violence and instead work at promoting peace.

Meanwhile PF Information and Publicity Committee Member Benjamin Siwila says President Edgar Lungu’s move to look into the plight of men and women in uniform in the country must be commended.

Mr. Siwila says the project to build houses for police officers is an indication that President Lungu is committed to improve their conditions.

He told ZNBC news in an interview that President Lungu has also shown good will to men and women in uniform through his interactions during the 2015 annual ball events.

Mr. Siwila has also urged Zambians to turn up in good numbers and give support to President Edgar Lungu on Tuesday next week when he will be signing the constitutional bill.

Mr. Siwila says the opposition political parties must participate because what will be done on Tuesday is for the benefit of all Zambians.

    • ati ma youth!.,,, these should be chibuku thugs,,, solidarity! solidarity for what??? for Lungu drinking!! kevin Sampa get a life!!!!,,, youths need jobs not dancing on the streets,,,,,

    • @Ndobo , I agree, only thugs can be mobilized by Kelvin Sampa.
And why match anyway if PF was popular? I never seen Kalusha matching for a game at Heroes stadium. People just go, Tuesday or under flood lights. Why should fans match to mobilize something they love or respect? Only PF!

    • This explains why Zambia is where it is in its poor state. People are encouraged to be unproductive. PF and Lungu expect people to leave their productive jobs or businesses to watch a demagogue sign a constitution!!!

This cannot be tolerated in other focussed and advanced economies. Every minute spent on the job adds to the revenue of a company which translates to revenue for a country. Learn from the best for once

    • @ndobo & nostra….
are u sure that solidarity match was in vain?
if i were u, the question i should be asking myself or the apprehension i should have is wether the constitution we are about to be given is what we all want or not.
matching or not should not bother us cos you and me are above that.

  1. Why taking it to heroes stadium as if he’s being inaugulated, let the document be signed at state house, at heroes stadium shall turn into a rally meant to denounce opposition leaders, all well meaningful citizens shud rather watch it on Muvi tv while at home

  2. Do people need to match when this was promised to us through referrendum within 90 days please take a leaf from Tanzania.Do we need to gather at heroes standium just to sign the document.
What a wastage of resources of time

  3. @Jay Jay, the police and these thugs are the same. The police system will need to be cleaned up. My guess is that these morons already have many pre signed copies of permits. They simply fill in the spaces for dates and purpose of gathering. ..sic

  4. UPND were making noise pushing for these amendments
When it came to show up in parliament they tried to frustrate the process. Now the same people are crying against

You wanted 50% Plus 1. Now that you know your numbers are adding up, you don’t want the same amendments you wanted.

  5. Its difficult to understand why we want to condemn anything. Lungu is not perfect but when he does something commendable let us support him or at least shut up.

Wether we pour scorn and demean the guy the power to make the document into law currently lies in his hands no ones.

Its time we devoted our energies to progressive issues and not hate vibes

    Can we grow

    • What’s commendable about sheer wastage of peoples time and state resources by having a signing ceremony at a stadium?

You do not realize that the money wasted on mobilizing police, security, government workers, fuel etc to attend this nonsense can be spent on valuable drugs that can save people’s lives?

      Meanwhile Aleisa HH

    • Tell your drunk dancing president and his ministers to grow up first. Why they want to drink at stadium on Tuesday?

  6. Obviously the opposition parties, now being actively led by Leonard Chiti, of the reviled grand coalition will boycott the ceremony.

  7. PF Youth. Perfectly Formed Youths standing up for their Gov’t, their Country. All other Youths should follow their example!

This is sooooo exciting. I shall make sure to be taking a coffee or tea near the Zambian Embassy tomorrow at the time of signing! Oh maybe I’ll just pop into reception and give a loud excited Yahooooo! Hope I don’t get arrested!

We are behind you your Excellency, Our Hero, hence Heros Stadium for those who ask! All Zambians should line the streets. This is a momentous time of our Lives. Come on Zambians!! Hip Hip Hooray for President Lungu!!

  8. OUR OPPOSITION POLITICAL PARTIES WERE BUSY DENOUNCING PF THAT PF WAS HOLDING ON TO THE CONSTITUTION. NOW PF WILL GIVE YOU THE CONSTITUTION, AND THE UPND HAS GONE SILENT. I REMEMBER THEY GATHERED AT CATHEDRAL OF THE HOLY CROSS SAYING ALL SORTS OF THINGS AGAINST PF. BUT NOW THEY ARE QUIET WITH THEIR TAILS BETWEEN THEIR LEGS. THIS IS THE REASON WHY THE OPPOSITION IS NEVER TAKEN SERIOUSLY. ALL THE AMENDMENTS TO BE PASSED ARE WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT. THE BILL OF RIGHTS WILL BE TAKEN TO THE REFERENDUM TO BE HELD SIDE BY SIDE WITH THE GENERAL ELECTIONS. THIS TO ME IS A LOT OF WISDOM. YES PF MAY NOT BE PERFECT. BUT THIS IS A GREAT STRIDE IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. WE WILL SUPPORT THEM.

    • They wanted to hear hh commanding the president to sign the constitution but he was dribbled about the date and time.

  9. Does everything need marching?? This is just a campain gimmick by PF, they know perfectly well opposition youths can’t mix. The corrupt ZP should ban party regalia and slogans or is this a PF thing??

  10. This does not look good! It will deny the opposition good platform for campaigns against PF! They will not be able to include the constitution in their campaigns.

    • There’s so much dirt to throw at the PF. Just look at the state of the economy, national debt, corruption…. the list is endless

  11. All UPND voters (90%) voted in 2015. Only 30% of PF supporters turned up. In 2016, 80% will turn up and someone will cry owe.

  12. In case you don’t know, a calling App called Ringoversea is now so cheap to call Zambia and other African Countries. Hope this helps?

  13. So…at a time that Zambia is clearly broke….we are going to spend all that money for an act that doesn’t need the gathering of “the party and its government” at a national stadium?
When will we ever learn. This is a total waste of money and another attempt to hoodwink the masses.
Just call th press and sign it if you need witnesses…..FFS!!

  14. ULYA PALYA NGU DEVIL.
CADRES HAVE COME OUT AGAIN TO CONDEMN ANYTHING PF IS DOING.
YO HATRED WILL BUST IN 2016 AFTER LOSING BADLY TO PF.
NB: UPND ITS 99% IMPOSSIBLE TO WIN ELECTIONS USING HH UNDER 50+1
HH IS TRIBALIST HATES BEMBAS FOR NOTHING BUT HE WANTS TO USE THEM WIN ELECTIONS.
ONLY FOOLS CAN USED LIKE THE ONE U KNOW WHO HAS NO G12
IFINTU LUNGU 2016 LUNGU NAFUTI CHIMUBABE UPND CADRE
Well done ecl thankx for the constitution, heroes st here we come

  15. I stated before; there is no need for a huge funds gobbling ceremony just to assent to a Bill over a Constitution that won’t even stand the test of time. The way it was adopted went against the original plans for a more robust document. It still lacks proper legitimacy. Lungu’s signing of it is merely a populist exercise which has already over-excited people who do not even understand process and content.

  16. Did the PF youths get a permit from the police.THE ZAMBIAN POLICE are a disgrace to zambia and danger to themselves.there is no need to march .a constitution is a right and a privilege .

  17. I was very much disppointed when i listened from one person the grand coalition on they are still adamant that they want a constitution adopted through a refurandam.it was all chabe rubish. The calibre of upnd cadres is worse.

  18. What a foolish way of wasting Tax Payers’ money!

First you deny Them their demand for a people-driven constitution by vetting, manipulating, adulterating, and picking and choosing what might be in your interests, then you slap the People in the face by asking them to come and celebrate your intransgence – what a mockery of the People:
. No separarion of powers by
    avoiding cabinet out side
    Parliament,
. No devolution of power from
Lusaka to the People at Regional
    levels,
    . No equitable representation at
    regional, gender, youths , the
    disabled, political parties, by
    rejecting mixed proportional
    representation
    . No enhanced human rights
    provisions!

PF must go to pave way for a party that will respect the will of the people!

    PF are called…
