Nkana has signed a block sponsorship deal worth US$179,000 for the 2016 FAZ Super Division season.

The tri-corporate deal, one of the biggest by a FAZ Super Division club to-date, was unveiled on Friday morning at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe and it involves a partnership with Red Metals Mining, Bayport Financial Services and Stanbic Bank.

Red Metal Mining will be the Nkana’s main shirt sponsor at the tune of US110,000 while Bayport will be the primary endorsers with a US$40,000 package.

Stanbic Bank has entered into a US$ 29,000 agreement to foot Nkana’s logistics for the 2016 season.

“The club will continue to coming up with more business initiatives through the development of business models as we drive towards self-sustainability,” Nkana president Everisto Kabila said at the unveiling ceremony.

“We pledge to uphold financial discipline, transparency and team work in all our financial dealings so as to turn all our objectives into realities.”

Meanwhile, Mopani copper Mines said they will continue to be the principle sponsors of the club despite their international holding giants Glencore’s financial problems.

“As Mopani we remain committed to render support t the club within our budgetary provisions, hence, we are optimistic that the team, together with the club executive committee, will rise to the occasion and make us proud again this year,” Chief executive officer Johan Jansen said.

  1. It’s sad that such money that other footballers get in a week is classified as a big deal…anyway good for them at least they are transparent unlike Galu and FAZ where figures are seldom mentioned!!

  2. This is the more reason why the super league needs to be separated from FAZ. Most of these clubs have excos that think but the FA especially under the leadership of Z’s greatest footballer has been an impediment to their development. Where ever he is he must already be thinking of how to dip his dirty little fingers in the $179k.
Of course its less than Rooney’s weekly earning but its a start. In our economy its still a huge amount.

  3. Need more companies to emulate these pliz…….happy for the team!!!!!
Otherwise we will remain struggling with our League.

  4. Happy 4 my team & wish 2 ve a good game this season.
Sam of u who are saying its too little US$179.000 how much is FAZ is spend on these clubs in our country.

    “12 TIMES CHAMPIONS”.

  5. I’m power & zesco but I like the idea that “illiterates, thugs & prostitutes” have attracted RMM, BFS & Stanbic. I’m laughing all the way to my next castle lite.

  6. Am a Mighty fan through and through.I am happy for the sponsorship deal for our sister club. We need stiff competition in the league. we need our soccer standards to rise to the high levels of 70s and 80s. We watched pure class those days.

  7. We as responsible citizens and indeed government should scrutinise these so called sponsorship deals.Mopani should put cards on the table rather than hide under such entities like stanbic that has devastated the lives of our retrenched miners and indeed the Red metal mining co Pty that has suddenly come to the scene.what marriage is there between MCM and RMM anyway?wake up Zambians.

    • @ David, I agree with your sentiments regarding the connection between Mopani and Red Metals….
How have they suddenly appeared on the scene ? Rumour has it that Red Metal Mining is taking over the operations of Mopani…hmmm? Is there also a link between Red Metal and Red Path ???
      People need to know!!!
