A Chinese man who fell from a moving truck at the weekend at Sepco Maamba has died in the Livingstone Central Hospital.
Southern Province Police Commissioner Godwin Phiri said Yang Yuanig 43, died yesterday and had suffered a brain problem after the incident.
“The Chinese man who fell down from the truck at Sepco Maamba has died in Livingstone Central hospital. He had brain problem before he died,” he said.
The incident happened last Saturday April 2, 2016, and Yang was rushed to Livingstone Central Hospital were died yesterday.
In another incident an adult of Ngwenya Township was hit by a moving Zambia Railways train around 20 hours.
Mr Phiri who confirmed the incident said the adult who was about 35 years old died on the spot and the police have since picked up the remains of the deceased.
He said the remains have been deposited in Batoka Hospital awaiting identification.
“We recorded a train incident which occurred yesterday at 20:00hrs on the railway line near Ngwenya Township in which an adult male person aged about 35 years was hit by a train and died on the spot.
“The police have since picked up the remains and deposited in Batoka Hospital Mortuary,” he said.
Meanwhile a pedestrian died on the spot yesterday after the driver of a Toyota Corolla registration number BAB 1167 lost control near a bridge in Kalomo.
Mr Phiri said the driver Godfrey Sinanga aged 26, lost control and careered off the road and hit into a pedestrian.
He said the deceased sustained fatal injuries and the body has since been taken to Kalomo hospital mortuary.
“The unknown pedestrian died on the spot after sustaining head injuries and the body is lying in Kalomo hospital mortuary,” he said.
