It is now official, Zambia will miss the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
Bottom placed Kenya beat number 2 side Congo-Brazzaville 2-1 on Sunday in their penultimate Group E qualifier but that result was not enough to keep 3rd placed Zambia’s slim hopes staying in the hunt for a runners up slot.
However, the result handed Guinea Bissau’s debut africa Cup qualification and ended both Zambia and Congo’s interest in the race to Gabon.
Guinea Bissau have 10 points, four more than Congo and Zambia who stay 2nd and 3rd respectively and tied on 6 points from five matches.
Both Zambia and Congo cannot beat Burkina Faso and Liberia’s 10 point haul accumulated on Sunday in their respective penultimate group qualifiers.
Burkina Faso beat 1-0 away win over Comoros to stay second in Group D while Liberia drew 2-2 away against Togo to remain behind Group A leaders Tunisia tied on 10 points heading into September’s final group qualifier deciders.
Zambia, who host Kenya this September in a formality match, will miss the Africa Cup for the first time since 2004.
AK shud give Zambia what Kalu failed – full time coach. Since Zambia her full time coaches it has always been a downswing. Let Chicken concentrate on ZESCO. We need a full time coach before the world cup qualifiers start.

Get in an Indigenous coach they said. we can stand on our own two feet they said..good for chipolopolo to watch from home maybe things will get serious.
yes indigenous coach is better still than any other foreigner (not african). we stand by that whether we lose or win!!!!! but that does not mean that we pick inexperienced coaches just because they are african. we can still find good coaches who can deliver with a little more scrutiny and searching.

To be honest, not a local coach. Zambia do not take instructions well with their fellow country men. They need a foreign coach for them to be forced to do the right thing. Foreign coach epela!!!!!!!
Exactly what has been my thought, our Players do very well under foreign coaches unlike our locals, because they are much more free on & off the pitch, they mingle around with foreign coaches, but ama locals nga waseka naba coacher ninshi tawakwata umuchinshi, u cant even joke with ba coacher or talk about money wit ba coacher ninshi u destroying team spirit, have been their before and I know wat am talking about, the best example let look at the relationship that was there btn Renard & His players all the time he z been in Zambia from 2010…….. Local is Laka but they have failed us so many times. Am sure this time around Kamanga & company should get a foreign coach on

Andrew Kamanga should not be so much be mentioned in this AFCON failure because he found an already sinking Zambia National team and technical bench. Honestly we will not be fair an just to start calling A.K any funny names because he has so far not altered anything he found.
