President Edgar Lungu has urged PF members on the Copperbelt to ensure that they turn out in large numbers on August 11 to avoid a re-run.

Mr Lungu says a re-run will be costly to the country.

The head of state has called on PF members in the province to get down to serious campaigns, especially at grassroots level.

President Lungu was speaking at Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport in Ndola this evening before departure for Lusaka.

And Mr Lungu says some opposition leaders already know that they have lost the election to the PF and are looking for excuses.

He wondered why some contenders are saying they will not accept the results of the poll even before elections are conducted.

Meanwhile, President Edgar Lungu has advised political players in the country to be tolerant and allow each other to campaign without intimidation.

Speaking on arrival from the Copperbelt this evening where he had a series of engagements, President Lungu says politicians should only focus on selling their manifestos to electorates without any form of intimidation.

He has further appealed to PF members to buy into his philosophy by calling for peace.

And President Lungu has rated the PF’s strength on Copperbelt at 85 percent compared to last year’s 75 percent.

He said this is owing to the economic strides that the PF government has made in the province and the country as a whole.

  1. Yes. Its better to avoid a re-run by turning up in numbers to vote for the UPND of HH and his running mate GBM. Good advice Mr President

    • “Recalldockingcordinates”

      “Recalldockinginstructions ”

Meanwhile Canisius Banda wants to work with the mighty PF….details coming up…..hahahaha this is Politics

      August 11 vote PF ( Edgar )

      I thank you

    • LUNGU IS THE BIGGEST DAY-DREAMER OF THE MOMENT. IMAGINE FOR HIM TO DREAM PF STRENGTH ON THE COPPERBELT AT 85%! WHAT A DREAMER! PF IS DEAD ON THE COPPERBELT. PF IS ONLY 10% ON THE COPPERBELT, AND ONLY BY THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN DIRECTLY BOUGHT BY LUNGU’S CORRUPT MONEY FROM THE NATIONAL TREASURY. LUNGU IS A THIEF! LUNGU SHOULD BE THROWN OUT OF STATE HOUSE THIS AUGUST. ABASH LUNGU. ABASH THIEF. ABASH LOOTER. ABASH DRUNKARD.

    • that poor attendance, as if not PF ferried cadres from all over Zambia?
Even Zesco united vs Choma Eagles attracts more people than that PF rally.

    • YES!! CHAGWA YOU SHOULD CONTINUE CAMPAIGNING FOR US – WE NEED A VERY GOOD & OVERWHELMING TURN OUT TO KICK YOU OUT!!! WE DEFINITELY DO NOT WANT A RE-RUN!!!!

Vote WISELY 11/8/2016!! Vote Zambia FORWARD!! Vote for a UNITED ZAMBIA!! Vote UPND!!
      Abantu baya!!!!!!!

      #chagwamustfall!! #PamaFIkuyabebele!!

      I thank you!!

    • I think that the explanation by HH to say that he picked GBM because he needed some who could soil himself, someone who is a hard worker is a serious lack of diplomacy as a leader.
It is a direct insult or at least belittling not only to Canicious Banda but also to all the other order members of the UPND.
HH has just told his faithful members that none of them was willing to soil themselves, none of them was as hardworking as GBM.
This is not that good for a leader, especially a leader of a party.
It has taken long for HH to learn politics, and better still to differentiate political governance from corporate governance.

    • In your company or business, you can say anything to anyone; you can talk in any way you wish – including insulting, it will be fine because the business is yours.
In politics if you belittle people, or insult people or undermine their capacities they will abandon you for other options.
How dare you insult the integrity of all the intelligent and hardworking men and women in the UPND.
Look, people last year risked their very lives in Mpika – the Maureens and Nalumangos of this world; going where things were not only rough but tense; Canicious Banda has been with you through thick and thin – and you tell me he is not hardworking?
      Well, well, well!!!

  2. HH may fix it but Lungu will win it!!.The UPND blame game is disturbing. So many of the PF team that developed the current policies have jumped ship to UPND. The opposition is just unity by hate for ECL. Zambians will show you the power of God on 11th August. When Jesus says yes no one can say no.

    • You False Prophet, which God are you talking about! Which God can support leaders who are busy stealing from the poor people they must be serving! How can you do roads at US$2 000 000 per km when the cost should be US$470 000 per km! God, through His people, will teach PF a lesson this August!

    • @Joseph if God was a registered voter, he would vote for HH who is more sober than your drunk Edgar. Where is elder-wife Ester these days?

  3. Show us pictures of the entire stadium Ba Lt so we can see just how big this “mega rally” really was….

  4. YES, we will turn up in very large numbers. As we vote we will remember our suffering under PF. We will remember how the price of mealie meal has gone up, how we are failing to send our children to school, our being unemployed, the violence that PF has introduced and all the suffering we have endured during the rule by PF. WE WILL REDEEM OURSELVES! YOU WILL SEE!

  5. Like an Ostrich Lungu is burying his head in sand by the time he wakes up on 12 th August 2016 he will be doing Sonta apo at the Exit door in State House. Lungu is daydreaming to think that PF still has 85% support on the Copper Belt. With loss of jobs, high cost of living, violent PF and the general mood of the people PF has lost massive support. Even the stadium in Ndola did not fill in spite of PF busing school children and other supporters from afar. People want change of govt and the inspiring HH/GBM combination is what the Doctor ordered on the C/Belt and Northern Provinces. As they say u cannot tell the emperor that he is naked but we can all see barring Lungu’s rigging plans he will not get 50% + 1vote. HH and GBM stand a better chance than Lungu and his Ruining Mate. Time will…

  6. Indeed- a large turn out on voting day should silence these false starters, a conglomerate of haters seeking for tenderpreneurship tenures! I really don’t see what’s new in the so called ten ‘points’! I see practical steps taken already in energy, education, infrastructure that spurs economic development in far flung areas, agriculture that has been on a steady growth resulting in bumper harvests even when our neighbour’s are failing to record bumper harvests- Umuntu NiLungu- abashala Nibangwere!!!

    • Which infrastructure? How can you spend US$2,000,000 per km instead of US$470, 000 per km on roads? You corrupt thieves! Your time is up you criminals!

    • The emergency of the “Me also” element through Huck Finn. Next will be the 10 points reworked into PF’s Manifesto

  7. True our clueless, visionsless, brainless, hopeless, useless, dullness, directionless, needless, spineless and a drunkard will ll turn out in large numbers to send you back to the shambles of chawama bars because that were you belong.

  8. Lungu is not only drunk from Jameson Whiskey but is power drunk. With loss of jobs on the CB, high cost of living, poor governance, shortages of fuel and meal mealie, morale down etc Lungu will be lucky to force a Run Off. ECL and PF’s popularity must have fallen by at least 70% on the CB. The combination of HH and GBM is a killer punch. ECL has to rely on rigging but without some degree of popular support, rigging can be too obvious and backfire. An illegitimate election will produce an illegitimate govt which inturn will not be recognised by the likes of IMF and other Financial Institutions. Without financial help the Zambian economy will collapse and the country will become ungovernable. Lungu and RB should be mindful of this, otherwise social unrest in Zambia will consume them.

  9. Many of you think YOUR HH will bring heaven on earth it will not happen this time around. PF government has worked to our expectation they are not angels but have more positives than negatives. Please mark my words PF is winning this coming election we are not in the mood of changing Government.

  10. Sure, there is no need for a re run when your suit cases are already packed, we are just waiting to bid you farewell to prison.

  11. EDGAR LUNGU THE GREAT DECEIVER,
EDGAR LUNGU A WORM WITHOUT DIRECTION,
TO VOTE FOR PF IS TO VOTE FOR POVERTY
    VIVA UPND, VIVA HH
AUGUST 11 VOTE UPND, VOTE HH
    I THANK YOU

  12. Sonta pama late salaries – Civil Servants are now getting paid on the third of the following month. UNZA employees are only expected to start getting paid today the 6th June 2016. Is this the SONTA PO you are talking about. Ma rubbishi.

  13. Upnd supporters mad, what kind of party are u who don’t have a slogan. What happened to aleisa_ aleisa?

  14. Asking the very people you sent to the streets after agreeing with the mines to get rid of them/The very people you have subjected to abject poverty/The very people you have subjected to load shedding you must be a joker try dull areas maybe east

  15. Guys, Some of you are claiming Lungu has stolen!

What has he stolen? Please provide irrefutable evidence and then we will not vote for him. In fact we will campaign against him.

But without proof you are just showing us your unfounded telling us that you have no real issues except character Assassination.

The Bible says “Without faith it is inpossible to please God” I the same way, “Without evidence it is impossible to convince us”

    Tamwakaimone ba UPND.

  16. @Nostradamus bushe walikwata amenso? I doubt if you can see. That’s y they say we have eyes but we can not see.

  17. ek – How can they make their own money when 70% of the students are government sponsored and the government does not pay for them. Where do you think the money will come from. Do not shamelessly comment on issues you do not understand. Are a Zambian or a Congole?

  18. k – How can they make their own money when 70% of the students are government sponsored and the government does not pay for them. Where do you think the money will come from. Do not shamelessly comment on issues you do not understand. Are you a Zambian or a Congole?

  19. How do you to launch a campaign and instead of you seeing for yourself that people will turn in large numbers to vote, you are instead asking them to turn in large numbers?what kind of political statement is this?Does it make sense-not at all.Not inspiring, not giving hope.Turn in large numbers and then what?do you vote in groups or you drink in gruops?
