Roan United stay third in promotion race

Roan United stayed third on the FAZ Division 1 Zone 2 table after thumping Kalulushi Modern Stars at Kafubu Stadium in Luanshya on Sunday.

Striker Lyson Sikaonga grabbed a brace in this Week 15 encounter to help Roan increase their tally to 26 points after 14 matches played.

Ex-Nchanga striker Sikaonga has now scored 10 goals this term.

Elsewhere in Zone 2, leaders Konkola Blades and second place Gomes Wanderers battled to a goalless draw in the top of the table clash at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

Forward Brian “Eto’o” Chewe scored for Blades with Clarence Berrington netting for Gomes.

Konkola lead the top with 31 points from 14 matches.

Gomes are second with 27 points from 14 matches.

In other games, fourth placed Kitwe United beat Copperbelt Buffaloes 2-0 at Garden Park Stadium in Kitwe and Indeni thumped Chambis 3-0.
