Zambia’s Fourth Republican President Rupiah Banda has decided to discontinue the criminal Prosecution of Rainbow President Wynter Kabimba, Post Newspaper Editor in Chief Fred M’membe and the Post Newspaper Limited.
In a statement released to the media, the former president said that he has decided to take this decision in the spirit of preserving peace and unity in Zambia during and after the 11th August Elections.
The Head of state further said that he had freely come to this decision principally because he was acquitted of all criminal charges he was facing before the subordinates courts in Lusaka and that his immunity had be restored.

The timing of this statement is telling. After getting Lungu to restore his immunity and closing the Post, RB finds no political capital to persue this case further. RB finds no point in milking a dead cow. RB is the master mind behind ECL’s Election Rigging Strategy and as of now is sufficiently confident that his man will come thru and their alliance based on”wako niwako” and “Kumodzi kumaawa” will continue to thrive into the future. The last thing RB needs (in the event that PF loses), is a wounded Mmembe having been given back his paper, coming after anyone and anything he suspects to have been involved in his misfortunes. RB is wise.

Re-open docket on oil deal? So HH was wrong when he was supporting RB in court? And the Watchdog were wrong when they said that it was Membe who instigated the Mongu riots in Jan 2011 whereby they claimed he committed in,cest with his mother as part of a ritual to destabilise the country?
