The Northmead Assembly of God has dispelled media reports suggesting that its Presiding Overseer Bishop Joshua Banda together with Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia Executive Director Reverend Pukuta Mwanza have received K500, 000 from state House.

And Northmead Assembly of God Executive Board Secretary Gibster Makangila said it is also not true that Bishop Banda is a leader of a group called Christians for Lungu.

In a statement obtained in Lusaka, Mr. Makangila said Bishop Banda is neither a Member nor leader of the said group or a Director at Indeni Oil Refinery as suggested.

He said the church is disappointed and dismayed by libelous misinformation and reports suggesting that Bishop Banda is aligned to one political party adding that he remains one sided in responding to issues affecting the nation.

Mr. Makangila has charged that the reports remain deliberate and calculated efforts by some interest groups to misalign Bishop Banda.

  1. But he’s never condemned the shooting of an unarmed small girl but he’s in the forefront organizing prayers for one political party.

Even Jesus said in Rev 3:16 says: So, because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

    • History has shown that its tricky to respond on behalf of someone ….. How can we be so sure that Joshua did not receive this money? Example US … Mrs Trump…plagiarism…soon after the speech the spokesperson denied that there was no plagiarism and only similar words were used in some cases …. forward only a few hours …… some fictional character on the Trump team resigns and accepts having plagiarized parts of Mrs Obamas speech. You see the only difference is that in such cases these guys in the West have a higher moral standing than we do. Ifwe kwena we are truly the chumbu munshololwa.

    • The money, I mean ka K500,000 was not meant for the Church in Northmean for the Pente.
The money, just token was personal offer to Joshua Banda, and his rival Pukuta Mwanza. Banda and Mwanza are from Eastern, who knows maybe they are boyhood friends with Edgar Lungu and Ruphia? And Kaizer Zulu, Zulu is from Eastern too …. so the money was PERSON…… friendship offer to settle for promised PF House of Prayers.
So Ba Makangila, just leave the church, try Dan Pule, he is not paid yet!

  2. He may not have received it on behalf of the church but on his own behalf. That’s why the church doesn’t know about it. Kikikikiki

  3. so it’s true he probably received more than K500,000..nkani yalula..ndalama za corrutpion abusa nizachabe..

  4. LUNGU IS GETTING ONLY 20% VOTES THIS AUGUST. LUNGU SHOULD BE WISE ENOUGH TO START PACKING BECAUSE SOON HE IS VACATING STATE HOUSE. WE REJECT THIS EVIL MAN LUNGU.

    • @ Truth the evil man is HH who after losing all this time thinks UPND is his personal property like his cows, he has now aligned himself with the likes of GBM, a proven GBV violent man, William Banda the chief hooligan a loompen and many more such hyenas.
HH will turn Zambia into a Cattle kraal … open your eyes. ABASH Hakainde!!! VIVA LUNGU

    • This munene type are the ones who will lead in prayers 2 days from now. With all that hatred let us pray

  5. don’t worry he like many Zambians is a watermelon. don’t blame him there is a lot of money being dished out by PF. Let him get his share . … Viva Bishop Banda … Viva HH . abash serial Killers !!!!

  6. His Preaching is Flat , dull and non inspirational – Nevers Mumba , see how small boys Like Him have taken over your place .

  7. Seriously who can trust a bishop who is dressed like a salesman….anyway if you are a believer in religion anything is possible!!

  8. LT: “Bishop Joshua Banda did not receive K500,000 from State House-Church”
LT: You are agreeing that he received something. Please tell us how much? K499,000?

  9. I have lost respect of these bishops. they are close to Lungu but have failed to tell him to stop the violence and death against Zambians by his police and cadres

  10. Why defend him when he is supposed to defend himself. we all know what he is being doing that so called bishop is a shame to this Country. How can honestry some one who failed to build his church be trusted to build the so called national church whatever shame upon these crooks pretending to serve people just wait you pay for your evil deeds you can’t mock God.

  11. So Mr. Makangila if he did get ZMW500,000.00 would you have admitted that he got the money? Just be candid ba pombwe. You are eating tax payers’ money alone. Bloody makaka wena.

  12. @ MAKANGILA ” it is also not true that Bishop Banda is a leader of a group called Christians for Lungu”
I TRUST WHAT IS SAID BY PEOPLE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CHURCH BUT THE ISSUE IS THAT THE BISHOP HAS BEEN SO ACTIVE IN POLITICAL ORGANIZATION ARENA BY HELPING PRESIDENT ECL NEARLY IN EVERY CIRCLE. WE CAN POINT OUT A LOT OF ISSUES SEEN THROUGH THE MIRROR.
PUKUTA MWANZA AND JOSHUA BAND LIKE FORMER PRESIDENT RB ARE SEEN PLAYING A WAKO NIWAKO GAME. THE ASSEMBLIES OF GOD CHURCH HAVE NOT HELPED THE MAN OF GOD. WHAT WE WILL SEE IS THE TWO WILL SOON JOIN POLITICS. PEOPLE HAVE CALLED THEM NOW AS A TRIBAL CLASS. REV. MATALE CONSULTED AND COMMENTED DILIGENTLY BECAUSE SHE SAW THE WHAT THE SOCIETY WILL COMMENT.
ABOUT K500,000, NO ONE CAN AGREE AND ONLY GOD KNOWS AND IF THE TWO ARE REFUSING…
