Nkana on Saturday returned to Super Division action with a 6-3 win over Nakambala Leopards in Wusakile just a week after their shameful exit from the Barclays Cup.

Kalampa were eliminated from the Barclays Cup in humiliating fashion after suffering a 4-0 semifinal defeat at the hands of clinical Zanaco at Arthur Davies.

Bruised Nkana started their recovery as early as the first minute with winger Simon Bwalya opening the scoring after beating Nakambala keeper Ceaser Ndhlovu from close ranger.

Striker Walter Bwalya scored a hat-trick with goals in the 26th, 54th and 85th minutes having missed a penalty earlier on 17 minutes.

Nkana scored the other goals through striker Ronald Kampamba and central defender Given Sinyangwe in the 22nd and 70th minutes respectively.

Nakambala who were 4-0 down by 60th minute made sure they lost with dignity after scoring three second half goals at Nkana Stadium.

Captain Lameck Banda reduced the deficit to 4-1 with a fine header from a corner on 63 minutes to expose Nkana keeper Fredrick Mwansa and his defenders.

Three minutes later, Keegan Bwalya scored Nakambala’s second goal from a direct free kick outside the box before Banda completed his brace in the 82nd minute.

Second placed Nkana increases their tally to 60 points, five behind leaders Zanaco, who drew goalless with champions Zesco United at home on Saturday.
