The Youth Network Zambia has hailed Parliament for approving the creation of four new ministries.

Youth Network Zambia Chairperson Bervin Chansa says the creation of the four new ministries will improve service delivery in line sub sectors.

Mr Chansa notes that some Ministries were too big, making it difficult to deliver on set objects.

He says President Edgar Lungu deserves commendation for efforts aimed at enhancing service delivery in the re-aligned ministries.

Mr Chansa has since urged civil servants to be deployed in the new ministries to work at actualising the operational objectives.

Parliament last night approved the creation of four new Ministries when the motion came up for debate.

The motion was approved by 91 votes against 47 with no abstentions.

All the PF MP and some opposition and Independent MPs voted for the motion.

The four new Ministries are the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Water Development, Sanitation and Environmental, the Ministry is the Ministry of National Guidance and Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Presidential Affairs.

    • Now its clear PF have no program for Zambia. Everything is either cut & paste from UNIP, MMD or decided in the morning & reversed in the afternoon.

      Who doesn’t know that such Ministries once existed under UNIP & MMD. Keli Walubita was first Minister for Environment. Under UNIP erring political appointees were disciplined by being transferred to National Guidance where they lazied & idled till they reformed. Every cadre who voiced or contributed something politically was employed under Min.Of.NG which had no formal establishment. So long they were paid. I can see the hand of RB & posthumously Sata in this since these were MMD & UNIP.

      Is this what Lungu wants to revert to? No progress!

    • I don’t see what Youth Network Zambia Chairperson Bervin Chansa is hailing for he seems to lack analytical independent thought but rather leader worshipping and parroting not worthy of an upcoming leader he wants to portray for YNZ!

  1. Soon there will be a Ministry of Marriage and Dununa affairs. Are we slowly moving towards theocracy so that retired presidents can be come bishops extraordinaire or what? What EXACTLY will this guidance be about? What Interdenominational interventions will this Ministry be in charge of. What legislation will this attract??? Are we really welcoming this consciously or with the mind of the Grade 7 clause? We will only realize when the mills start to grind, huh?

  2. Who the hell are Youth Network ….. Aba Nibakalya Bunga …. they dont pay Taxes and have no feel how painful living in this economy is becoming….what Value will these Ministries add if we hardly even get the value of the existing Ministries ??

    • The more this government is critized the more mistakes they make. I was listening to yesterday’s debate in parliament and the opposition gave very valid reasons why it was not necessary to create such ministries but as usual everything was trashed by PF lawmakers just to dance to their master’s tunes. Failing to listen to reason!Ala tulimuchibe!The existing ministries receive funding twice a year and with the creation of more? Where we are going I see this regime failing to pay salaries

  3. Since we are failing to deliver in sport, can we have separate ministries for;
    1. Soccer,
    2. Basketball, netball, volleyball
    3. Rugby, cricket, tennis
    4. Athletics and field events
    For Gods sake no ministry is big that it fails to deliver on its mandate. In South Africa, 53 different minerals are produced from 1730 mines and one ministry handles that and yet we cant even account for one mineral (copper) produced in Zambia. Its not about the size and responsibilities of the ministry…you just have wrong dunderheads trying to do what they are not equipped to do.

  4. PM, I hear you. In the UK constituency boundaries are being redrawn (cutting down), in Zambia there was an increase.

  5. Before the ink even dried on the amended constitution it is being amended.Did Lingu read the constitution before signing?And he blames his MP”s for not reading.

  6. My problem is Ministry of Guidance. We had such a thing in UNIP and it was the one that was supposed to be brain washing Zambians by creating such propagandist programmes that only them are good or have the monopoly of knowledge. I fear the same.

  7. You cant welcome madness mwebantu. Zambia doesn’t need the Ministry of National Guidance and Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Presidential Affairs. What is the President’s office doing if you have to add a ministry to it?

  8. Brown nosing en masse. Stinker of a decision. Just when you think you have hit rock bottom we create a new low. Next generation have every right to call us every name in the book for what we are handing over.

  9. Why we need the Ministry of National Guidance and Religious Affairs:

    The preamble of the constitution of Zambia (Amendment) [No. 2 of 2016] State;

    “WE, THE PEOPLE OF ZAMBIA
    ACKNOWLEDGE the Supremacy of God Almighty;

    DECLARE the Republic a Christian Nation while upholding a person’s right to freedoms of conscience,
    belief or religion;

    UPHOLD the human rights and fundamental freedoms of every person

    COMMIT OURSELVES to upholding the principles of democracy and good governance;

    RESOLVE to ensure that our values relating to family, morality, patriotism and justice are maintained and all functions of the state are performed in our common interest;………..”

    The declaration of Zambia as a Christian nation has helped to give our great country a definite identity that…

  10. The declaration of Zambia as a Christian nation has helped to give our great country a definite identity that defines the culture and values we are to embrace.

    The declaration all by itself will have little effect in the absence of an institution to further interpret and demonstrate its relevance to our spiritual, social and development agenda as a country.

    The Ministry of National Guidance and Religious Affairs will therefore provide the institutional frame work to help harness the power of Christianity and religion in the creation of a more industrious, united, peaceful, stable and prosperous mighty Christian nation that is a beacon of hope and light to Africa and the rest or the world.

  11. Zambia is a nation whose cherished soul is Christianity. Suffice to note that Zambia consists of over 90 percent Christians. It’s a nation whose birth was largely aided by Christianity. Its very identity was derived from the name (Zambezi – river of God).

    Throughout the pages of Zambian history, its be proven beyond reasonable doubt that Christianity has been key to Zambia’s peace, stability, unity and progress. This can be attributed to the fact that Christianity hinges on one core truth of love, which is a universal need for any human being. Its therefore an eternal truth to say that; whatever makes a good Christian makes a good citizen.

  12. The ministry will play a key role in the following;
    1. Working hand in hand with the church in enhancing spiritual, social and economic development of
    the country.

    2. Advising and guiding the nation on matters of a Christian and religious nature in general.

    3. Aiding the instigation and maintenance of an atmosphere in the nation that inspires; belief in God the creator and ruler of the universe, love, faith, hope, patriotism, excellence, unity of purpose in diversity, integrity in governance systems, selflessness and fairness.
    4.Supporting the church in providing social services.

    Organizing National prayer and fasting programs and any national function of a religious nature.
    Harmonize the relationship between the church and the state.

    5.Church and religious based…

  13. 5.Church and religious based organization registration and maintenance of religious data base.

    6. Conducting training and research of a religious
    nature to inform evidence based policy and planning.

    7.Promotion of Christian values in governance systems and the concretization of Zambia
    as a Christian Nation. Among other benefits.

  14. Actually we are a Christian Nation and not a religious nation.
    Further the value of enhancing Christianity is far much higher compared to the cost of institutional support.

    Suffice to quote the following scripture from the Bible

    1.“…Love the lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment and the second is like it: Love your neighbour as you love yourself…” Mathew 22:37-39

    2.“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord”. Psalms33:12

    Blessings for Obedience (Deuteronomy28:1-14)

    3. 28 If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you (Zambia) high above all the nations on earth. 2 All these blessings will come on you and…

  15. Blessings for Obedience Deut. 28: 1-14)
    4 The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks. 5 Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed. 6 You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out. 7 The Lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven. 8 The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you. 9 The Lord will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the Lord your God and walk in obedience to him. 10 Then all…

  16. 10 Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they will fear you. 11 The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground—in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you.

    Blessings for Obedience Deut. 28: 1-14)

    12 The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. 13 The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom. 14 Do not turn aside from any of the commands I…

  17. Blessings for Obedience Deut. 28: 1-14)

    14 Do not turn aside from any of the commands I give you today, to the right or to the left, following other gods and serving them.

    3.“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it” (Psalm 24:1).

    4.The LORD bless you and keeps you (Zambia). The LORD make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. The LORD lift you up His countenance upon you and give you peace (Zambia) Numbers 6:24-26.

    This is a great decision the President has made, lets all support, its for our own good. Good job members of parliament for approving the Ministry of National Guidance and Religious Affairs. We are a country destined for untold greatness on the continent and beyond. The pursuit of a better Zambia is an ideal I will…

  18. The Vision of the Ministry of National Guidance and Religious Affairs could be as follows:

    We see Zambia guided and aided in harnessing the power of Christianity and Religion in the creation of a more industrious, united, peaceful, stable and prosperous mighty Christian nation that is a beacon of hope and light to the continent and the rest o the world.

  19. Ha ha ha, Lungu and his govt. behave like a thief who is always asking God to protect him from being caught each time he goes to steal.
    You can make ministries for every book in the bible and declare all Sundays as national holy holidays. Your fake leadership is like the color black. No matter how much light you shine on it, it will never, never look white.

  20. Ba Rev. Ernest C. Bwalya you are both a nitwit and a hypocrite. First I should enlighten to who is a Reverent.

    “Clearly only God is to be revered and in holding the reverence of God we exercise godly fear, knowing that who He is and of His absolutely power over all things. That is certainly not a attribute of a minister of the Gospel, an under shepherd who pastors a local congregation of believers. We are to respect our pastors who minister unto us, but we do not fear them and stand in awe of their power, as we are to our God and Creator. The reverence this word speaks of is reserved for God alone.”

    The rest of you are joust clowns.

  21. Ba Ernest C. Bwalya,

    You, the misplaced people in Zambia, you have come to a point when you thick God needs your help to be what he is. God is God long, long before, today and he will be there for ever and ever. Before the earth had form God was there. Why difference should be there after FTJ Chiluba (an adulterous, Thief, hateful person) declared Zambia as a Christian nation.
    When Jesus Christ come, coming from a Christian nation wont matter like it dose not matter now.

    Ba Bwalya, read the bible and pray and you will know what God requires of you and not this rubbish you are posting. I have a strong feeling you are an employee of this foolish ministry.

  22. May The Lord God Almighty forgive you Michel. Your comments are very irrational, full of anger and other misplaced emotions. Your arguments are out of context. You should have argued against every line of thought using the Bible with a sober mind and being motivated by love. I have forgiven you. Will keep praying for you for God to transform your life.
