The Lusaka Magistrate Court has granted bail to Eleven female UPND cadres arrested following last Thursday’s riot at the Lusaka High court.

Lusaka Resident Magistrate Silvia Munyina Okoh has charged the eleven cadres two thousand kwacha each in their own recognisance as part of the bail conditions.

Magistrate Munyinya Okoh has also ordered the UPND cadres to avail two working surities of fixed abode.

Earlier the eleven UPND cadres denied the charges of riotous behaviour before Magistrate Munyinya Okoh.

The eleven are Taisa Chihukukwe, Matron Milimo, Judy Takuli, Yvonne Mulemeli, Benfet Mutelo and Carolin Hanjoka.

Others are Precious Aongola, Patness Hachibinga, Cindy Shantumbu, Agness Munkhuwe,and Rachael Phiri.

Riotous behaviour is an offence under section 74 and 76 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

Meanwhile UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema and his Deputy Geofrey Mwamba and former MMD Leader Nevers Mumba were among the notables in court as the 11 UPND cadres appeared for plea.

  1. Have any PF cadres ever been arrested in this country. Especially that they march anyhow without permits. You mean PF cadres are that holy. No blemish. Iliko bad. If UPND cadre says any little thing, bwangu bwangu tear gas

  2. Michel matching and breaking private and public property are they the same in your head. Common guys lets not just support for the sake. That behaviour is un called for.

    • All complainants in cases against UPND are either bemba or easterners ,look at those claiming mwaliteta and other Upnd members robbed them of phones.For 5yrs you have concentrated on trying to show tongas as being tribal when you are the tribalists yourselves. Your fear for tongas will get this country into problems.Until the bemba dominated PF came we lived in peace with every tribe in Zambia.If you don’t want the other people this badly lets share the country so that you may rule yourselves without the fear of the other groups.
