The UPND is planning big, UPND vice-president Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba has revealed.

In an interview at Moba Hotel in Kitwe yesterday, Mr Mwamba said that the UPND’s silence should not make people think that the largest opposition party had problems.

Instead, Mr Mwamba stressed that the party was doing underground work and planning big such that even the media could not know its plans.

He said that the UPND was intact and had not lost any members, alleging that if members had left the party, they could only be two or three.

And the UPND vice-president said that street vendors who were being removed from the streets of major towns on the Copperbelt were paying a price for deciding to vote for the PF despite UPND assuring them that if voted into government, they would not have done so.

He said the UPND had no such plans of removing street vendors from the city corridors of Kitwe.

“During campaigns, we told the streets vendors that if voted into government, we would not remove them from the city
corridors, but they decided to vote for PF. So those who have been removed from the corridors are paying a price for voting for PF. “Just like the illegal miners called Jerabos, they are also paying a price for supporting the PF in the run-up to the August 11 elections. We told them ‘let us work together’, but they refused,” Mr Mwamba said.

And UPND Copperbelt provincial information and publicity secretary Kennedy Kalunga has said UPND would continue to provide checks and balances to the ruling PF despite the harassment they were receiving from the State police.

Mr Kalunga said it was sad that whatever statement the UPND leadership issued, the police regarded it to be seditious and they were made to appear before the courts of law.

He said each time UPND leaders appeared in court, UPND supporters were stopped from attending to follow the court proceedings.

“However we are not going to be intimidated by this behaviour of police officers who have reduced themselves to PF cadres, but we will continue to provide checks and balances to the PF and tell them how they are waffling,” Mr Kalunga said.

  1. Just when the civilised world thought all political players would for once unite against street filthying (aka vending), here comes our GBM to rend support to the rot. What a dissappoitment!

    • @ Chalo Nkhanza mediocre reporting tends to mislead. If the reporter who covered this story was really a professional at what they do they would not have misguided the reader on opinion! During campaigns a lot was said by the competing political parties and it is true UPND did say they would not remove street vendors, GBM is right! Now here is where the reporter would have helped clarify further……UPND did say only after providing alternative serviced sites for vendors to continue with their business would they then relocate them! The reporter for whatever reason chose to omit the history on campaign debate arguments! In most cases it seems Zambian journalists are found wanting in fact checking thus failing in their duty in inculcating accountability as a good governance estate!

  2. The legal vice president of Zambia has spoken. Wise words from this great son of the soil. Mwana wesu. Mwana watu. Umwaiche wesu who resigned from the third highest office of the land because he couldn’t stand losing his integrity by remaining member of a corrupt evil party and regime by name pf. We thank you

    • @New Evil Zombie(Nez) your 2nd IC of the United Dunderheads GBV who is on record of assaulting bana mayo ku Chisokone in Kitwe only last year is now trying to be a champion to the vendors? What a complete bunch of Dunderheads you guys are for thinking Zambians are as dull as you lot! Your dullness and bitterness is exactly why you Dunderheads remain in repetitive defeat at the polls- I repeat REPETITIVE DEFEAT- 5 times! Hungry Hyena a loser come 2021 its 6 times, but why?Answer.. Because of Dunderhead dullness.

    • Of course in your own little pf world hh got 47 percent. How would u expect him to get more than that when it is very well documented that the elections were not done according to rules and regulations of ecz. Look you two dander heads just give me 5 achievements of pf under lungu with quantitative proof till then keep your fly traps shut

    • Here we go again trying to pump sense into a Dunderhead! Nez you Dunderhead the AU, EU, UN and SADC declared the elections free and fair, other local monitoring bodies such as Transparency International also declared the elections free and fair even Fodep who complained initially later declared the elections free and fair! Hungry Hyena and co were given 14 days to organise themselves and bring their case to the Concourt but being the Dunderheads they are even that was too difficult a task! It appears the disease they suffer from is spreading throughout the United Dunderheads – that disease is sh!tforbrains syndrome!

    • Elo it appears only a Dunderhead can be fooled by GBV, some of us can never be that dull to believe GBV resigned as a Minister he was fired for corruption! That lumpene was abusing his office – awarding his own company contracts, using Army staff for his own security detail which is not allowed by military convention. So you and your crooked GBV wife beating, and vender assualt case lumpene can continue fooling your Dunderhead selves.
5 achievements of ECL:1) Maintaining single digit inflation,2) supporting farmers leading to successive bumper harvests since he took office,3) the completion of major infrastructure projects such as the Kalabo Bridge in W. Prov and expected completion of Sol-Chingola road this year 4)improved accomodation for defence staff, 5) commitment to gender balance…

    • Ctn..5) commitment to gender equality, fighting GBV and improving the rights of women in Zambia

Hungry Hyena and his team of sa.ta.nic Dunderhead blood thirsty animals will remain perpetual losers for a lifetime, hence the following quote whenever I think of you cretins.

“Madness is doing the exactly the same thing over and over again but expecting a different result”

      Albert Einstein

  4. Elo it appears only a Dunderhead can be conned by GBV, some of us can never be that dull to believe GBV resigned as a Minister he was fired for corruption! That lumpene was abusing his office – awarding his own company contracts, using Army staff for his own security detail which is not allowed by military convention. So you and your crooked GBV wife beating, and vender assualt case lumpene can continue cheating your Dunderhead selves.

    • Can you list archivements like GDP , job creation or the establishment of any manufacturing…..ati completed a bridge.

      Hahaha..
      Kaponya mentality is bad.

    • Do we have any measures of success in PF? Any KPI that we can hold PF accountable for? Completing bridges…??
This is becoming an interesting debate now…

  5. So now who are you representing Mr Fat Running Mate? Haven’t you heard? Don’t you look around you? And we did not see you at the Reeves funeral in Nega Nega. The owner of UPND Mr HH is now calling for national unity and reconciliation and you an outsider is saying the opposite. Your boss has moved on and you have remained a running mate, running mate to who? kikikikikiki…..If you don’t toe the line Mr Running Mate, very soon you will be asked to exculpate yourself the Canissius way.

  6. When i take over power, i shall ban all schools that chase kids without shoes, i shall ban all councils that insist on toilet constructions, i shall ensure people defacate anywhere including in stands along streets. I shall not do what PF is doing by removing people in streets and open places even without toilets. I shall ensure people are allowed to trade anywhere such as selling chicken and chips in toilet door steps etc. This is drama and am just joking.

  7. This is for the information of PF Cadres and Bloggers. If u go to the AU Website you will find an Official Press Release on The 28th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African, which reads as follows: The Outgoing Chairperson of the Union President Idriss Derby of Chad “warmly welcomed the newly elected Presidents of Gambia, Ghana, Sao -Tome and Principe and Seychelles, who won through a democratically electoral process organized in their respective countries”. Please note that the President of Zambia is not mentioned becoz AU still considers Zambia’s 2016 Elections Disputed and Lungu’s inauguration unlawful and unconstitutional. The AU has said it and not me.

  8. A secret is a a secret : you don’t go shouting that you have got a secret to sundry and all. What “something big ” can this diploma forger have apart from fanning anarchy?

  9. Yesterday on LT one Upnd blogger called Hapunda a traitor for joining an assumed Bemba party, but here I see him praising a Bemba called gbm.

  10. @ Nzelu,Terrible and 2020Vision get wiser and read the AU Press Release on the 28th AU Summit ,January 30-31 ,2017 and you will see that the AU does Not Recognise ECL as having won the 2016 Election lawfully and Constitutionally. So the Petition has to be heard, determined and the Winner declared by the Court. Until this is done ECL will stew in illegitimacy. AU and SADC will enforce the Petition Hearing so that Zambians can know who won the 2016 Election and who is their Legitimate President. Period.

    • He was allowed a platform and participated in all business and no mention was made about his not being a “legal ” president. This is your imagination and if you think it’s a reality go and petition the AU to make a public statement that Lungu is not president.
