Mufulira Wanderers’ poor start to the 2017 FAZ Super Division season has worried Kantanshi Member of Parliament Anthony Mumba.

Wanderers are bottom of the 20-team league with no points after recording five consecutive losses.

Mumba said he was concerned with Mighty’s uninspiring form that has seen the club concede 17 goals while scoring just once.

“I am hurting on Mighty Mufulira Wanderers poor performance. Most people in Kantanshi are Mighty supporters,” the Mufulira based law-maker said.

Mumba say he is engaging club sponsors Mopani Copper Mines in a bid to find a solution to Mighty’s dwindling fortunes.

“I have already spoken to Mopani. Mopani and I will be meeting again to come up with strategies and changes that will benefit the club,” he said.

“I can urge supporters to give me space so that I can find my way round this problem,” Mumba concluded.

Frequent change of coaches and mass exodus of key players in the pre-season has negatively affected the teams performance.

Some players who left Shinde at the start of the year are left back Taonga Bwembya, experienced defender Warren Kunda, winger Mike Katiba and right back Allan Kamwanga Jr.

  1. No wonder this team is failing. How does the MP starty meddling in the affairs of the team. That is not supposed to be his business.

  2. Mighty Mufulira Wanderers is not an ordinary football team. It is a legendary club. Wanderers with a few other clubs like Nkana, Nchanga, Konkola, City of Lusaka are the very foundation of soccer in Zambia.
To see an MP getting involved in means the repercussions of a fallen Maite are very huge. Even this far away from Shinde and I speak for Wanderers supporters not only in Mufulira , Zambia, Africa and the Rest of the World are very very sick. Imitoto yesu ku Shinde Stadium taileikala bwino, awe.
Mopani Copper Mines must realise that each loss has a direct negative impact at their assests and productivity at Mufulira.
Mopani has only underground operations and offices in Kitwe. Most huge investiments are at Mufulira. Huge smelters, acid plants, concentrators, underground big plants…

  3. I cry for my beloved maite, remember the legend products, Sir Samuel “Zoom” Ndlovhu, the three Nkole brothers Abraham Chizo, Joseph, Edward, Tolomeo Mwansa, mosquito legged Thomas Bwalya, Robertson Zulu, Dickson Makwaza, hardware and tools Bernard Mutale, Whilie Mukwasa, spoiler Oswald Chishala, Gerd Muller Evans Katebe just to mention a few!

  4. He is the kind of MP we need. He is in touch with all aspects of his constituency. Mopani have neglected the brand Mighty. Mighty in full steam can make money. Do Mopani Mighty adminstrators know this?

  5. That should be the reason to up their sponsorship in Mufulira. Why let players leave the club like that? They are not giving them enough!

  6. Thumbs up people mwasosa bwino there is need to revamp our team and the MP’s efforts must be commended and supplemented by all mighty supports and well wishers.
