Business community urged to utilize opportunities during Luapula expo

Share

The Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry advised the business community in Luapula Province  to utilize its various services during the forthcoming 2017 Luapula expo.

Ministry of Commerce Public Relations Officer, Godfrida Chanda says  the business fraternity should utilize the business clinics and seminars set up by her ministry during the first ever expo in the province.

Ms Chanda says the business clinics will allow Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Corporate entities not only to access information on doing business but will be an opportunity for issuance of business certificates and licenses on-site.

She further said the occasion is designed to provide a conducive platform for business entities to have a fair chance of networking and expanding their businesses locally and beyond borders.

Ms Chanda added that the event will create an opportunity for SMEs and Corporate entities to widen their networks and create robust sustainable business linkages that will enhance business development.

Ms Chanda stated that the Ministry will continue to create a suitable platform for SMEs and the entire business sector to widen their market for goods and services.

The Luapula expo 2017 will begin tomorrow July 26 to July 31 under the theme “Linking investors to Luapula Province to unlock the Economic potential”.

This was contained in a  statement availed  to ZANIS today.

    • Utilise what?

Just look at the tarmac in the parking lot from LT’s photo of this story. Those are not potholes, no, but drum holes!
How can there be development if development is not there or here? Already SME’s are suffering with such dilapidated roads with drum holes. For business to grow, roads need no drum holes for easy transportation of services & goods.
PF & its bandits have destroyed business confidence in majority Zambians~SOE.
Where is the 500,000 jobs blind Lungu insinuated & Kavindele’s 13,000 railway project?

  2. I hope and pray that Government will deliberately put in support measures to electrify and hasten infrastructure development like roads and supportive handling facilities in Luapula so that it’s true economic value can start bearing fruits immediately. I mean seriously, with these in Zambia can easily be reaping massively in comparison to copper dependence. For example, I firm believe that Luapula can be the Regions’ Fish farming, Livestoke and Horticultural leading block and contribute to poverty reduction and country’s GDP. Those that have been to this amazing Province and have travelled round the global would certainly agree with my views. It’s about time we became serious with what God has blessed us with.

  3. Only the already rich are benefiting from this farce. Life under pf

  4. Waiste of time , they only think of stealing in that province. Even all the equipment used for those seminars will be stolen
However good move for the rest of Zambia, maybe the bemba theives will leave other provinces and go to laupula.

  5. ONE OF THE MOST SERIOUS HINDRANCES TO ZAMBIA’S ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENTS IS THE MEDIA OR INFORMATION SERVICES HOUSES THEMSELVES. OUR NEWS PAPERS (HARD OR SOFT), TELEVISION ETC ARE VERY INCAPABLE OF MARKETING ZAMBIA’S POTENTIAL. FROM THE TIME THE LUAPULA EXPO WAS HATCHED- IF IT WERE HERE IN THE WESTERN WORLD, BOTSWANA, SOUTH AFRICA OR ELSEWHERE ON THE CONTINENT ONE CAN NEVER IMAGINE A DAY PASSING WITHOUT VIBRANT PICTURESQUE REPORTING IN/ON VARIOUS COUNTRY’S MEDIA HOUSES ESPECIALLY ELECTRONIC (IN MODERN DAY TIMES). ALAS! IN THE ZAMBIA’S CASE THE GENERAL PUBLIC IS LUCK IF THE MEDIA EVEN WRITE ABOUT IT- LET ALONE SHOW YOU IMAGES ABOUT THE BEAUTY OF (IN THIS CASE) SAMFYA’S, NHELENGE’S (ETC) LANDSCAPE WHICH INCLUDE WILD LIFE, WATER, ETC. JOURNALISM IN OUR COUNTRY IS VERY POOR EVEN FOR THE…

    • BUT WHEN YOU TALK ABOUT CHISHIMBA KAMBWILI FIGHTING WITH PF OR HH DISCREDITING ZAMBIA, THEN OUR JOURNALISTS WILL REPORT ON ALL SUCH. THIS IS PATHETIC.

  6. from@5….(ETC) LANDSCAPE WHICH INCLUDE WILD LIFE, WATER, ETC. JOURNALISM IN OUR COUNTRY IS VERY POOR EVEN FOR THE OBVIOUS BASIC THINGS.

    • You could not have put it better Peter. Our media plays politics throughout – developmental issues, no they do not think that that is a media playground.

  7. Lets look at why we are like this, because of oppression and poverty and the uncertainty of our immediate future we find it difficult to formulate and implement medium to long term initiatives to create wealth. Not only national but also personally. Reflect on why our politicians are really in power, all parties, it is so they and their families have a secure future. It is almost bulit into our dna. This means it will tske generations to change. But we must change so that we can harness the talent in zambia and actually unleash the potentialmthat is in this country.
Lets all try in a small way and then jt CAN happen. Believe in Zambia and believe in yourself
