LWSC ADVISES CUSTOMERS TO IGNORE FALSE MESSAGE CIRCULATING ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company (LWSC) would like to advise members of the public to ignore the message being circulated on social media claiming that water has been contaminated and that the utility company has advised people to desist from consuming it.

As a company, we find that not only malicious but also alarming. LWSC has not issued any notice of that nature and we would like to advise our customers to ignore that message.
LWSC is guided by the Zambia Bureau of Standards guidelines to produce and supply quality drinking water to its customers. In that regard, the water supplied by the utility company goes through a standard treatment process before it is supplied to the customers.

Water quality surveillance is also undertaken on a daily basis and quality control measures are in place to ensure that the water supplied meets the quality standards required.

  1. go to kaunda square stage 1 and see what is happening…the sewer system has mixed up with the line for drinking water.

    • Kaunda Square Stage 1, Garden Compound, Matero, Kanyama ……..it’s all over Zambia!!!!

  2. This is the result of FIRING DR MASHAMBA MD and CEO illegally, bring him back no pull him down syndrome

  3. Managements are always defensive on issues even where complaints are true and genuine and pose great danger to the people . Typical example also in Chingola every morning and parts of the day we are being greeted by mud water from the taps. A good number of litres go to waste before moderate clear can start flowing and now multiply by 30 days in a month and see how much one is paying for dirty water.
The council and government are failing to protect its people and this is what I call Africanism so long is a Black skin person and seen as normal that they just like complaining. See the response if it were a white person, they would quickly promise that the matter is being look into.
