Patriotic Front Secretary General Mr. Davies Mwila
Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary General Davies Mwila says the ruling Party has welcomed the decision for the State to enter a Nolle Prosequi in the treason case involving UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema and Five others.

“We welcome the decision as it is a show of independence of our institutions such as the Directorate of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) and Judiciary. We must never lose sight of the rule of law which emphasizes that no one is above the law. We further wish to remind that a Nolle Prosequi is not an acquittal. It is a Nolle. But most importantly for us in the PF is the independence of the DDP and Judiciary demonstrated”, Mwila noted.

The PF Secretary General has stated that this action has proved wrong those within and outside Zambia who championed an agenda of tarnishing the Country’s leadership and image to the world.

“This would never have happened in a dictatorship. We are not a dictatorship. We do not aspire to be one. We’ll never be one. We are democrats in word and deed”, Hon Mwila observed.

Mwila also acknowledged other stakeholders who have shown interest in maintaining of peace and stability in the Country.

“Let me thank all those like the Church and Commonwealth Secretary General, among others, who genuinely took keen interest in Zambia’s peace and stability. PF will always be committed to uniting Zambia beyond partisan, religious, tribal, gender lines”, he has stated.

Hon Mwila has also called the UPND leader Hichilema to pursue the call for talks and promotion of peace and unity in the country.

“ On a political level, people expect that the UPND leader will not abandon the commitment to democracy, but accept defeat and recognize the election and authority of President Edgar Lungu without reservations” Mwila said

    • What he is saying is that they can prevail over a nolle and re-activate the charge. Dont see any sense in that.

    • I agree with 1. @Mushota. As a matter of fact PF Secretary General is not a government official to be issuing such statements. These words were supposed to come from the Vice President of the country or Government Spokesperson.

    • Politics of abusing State Institutions to FIX political opponents is politics ya KU MA-TAKO.

We need to add clauses to constitutions preventing LUNGU & future presidents from abusing police, judiciary, DPP to FIX opponents.

    • Davis Mwila what about your crazy PF thugs chopping and killing opposition members with impunity; when are you going to arrest them and throw them in jail and throw the key away ?

This is one of the things left to demonstrate that Lungu hax transformed.

All PF thugs torturing, killing and torturing innocent critics of Lungu and PF for exercising their freedoms should all be arrested ,taken to court and then sentenced. Without this happening Zambia remains unsafe under PF and Lungu.

      VIVA HH.

    • Now that the treason charge has been proven baseless and unfounded, the IG and all those involved in HH arrest must be immediately FIRED by Lungu.

If this is not done, we will know for sure that they were acting under Lungus orders.

And this was only political harassment and intimidation of a Zambian Citizen whose rights are supposed to be defended by Lungu as President.

And he is not fit to be President!

    • It is a well known fact that Lungu and PF were forced to release HH and Co. Lungu is so embarrassed such that he had to find an excuse to go outside the country. It is no coincidence that Lungu decided to be out on the day of HH’s release for two reasons, one as mentioned above and second to pretend that he has no interference in the judicial process.
Lastly it is the final warning from the queen of England that did the job, Lungu had no choice but to back down. So Mwila should not lie that PF welcomes this news. If anything PF would have wanted to continue with their abusive way of governing. They buckled due to the intense pressure they were getting from all over the world. To asnwer @mushota or whatever you are called, Mwila and most ofPF leadership are dull and that is why Lungu is…

    • To asnwer @mushota or whatever you are called, Mwila and most ofPF leadership are dull and that is why Lungu is able to use them as tools of oppression. Similar to what Lishina did by asking her followers to drink urine.

    • This HYPOCRITE and LIAR Davies Mwila thinks Zambians are stupid enough to believe his rubbish! Was he sleeping during the campaigns where PF was the party of tribalism and tribal insults?

And he says “PF will always be committed to uniting Zambia beyond partisan, religious, tribal, gender lines”, when it is PF that has DIVIDED Zambia just to steal the election and then steal our National resources?

As they say, you can fool some people some of the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time. Zambians are now seeing through your “PF” LIES !

  2. There is no separation of powers in the government. PF and State House control the Judiciary and the DPP. Go tell those lies to a 5 year old maybe he ll believe you!

  3. Now who is a dictator, President Lungu or the small god worshipped by the entire UPND blind followers?
Let him call for a convention where sellable and courageous guys will present alternative road map. As things stand, it’s gonna be a case like Odinga, crying foul election after election. Too bad for my brother GBM!

  7. Why is PF obsessed with “Recognition” and “Defeat”? The DPP did not enter the Nolle Prosqui on condition that HH concedes defeat and recognizes Lungu. Dialogue Is about the Disputed and Petitioned 2016 Election. The Petition is in Court and HH and ECL will need to agree on how best to resolve the issue while respecting the Zambian Constitution. The Petition needs to be heard so that we can cast our eyes on 2021. The use of words like “defeat” and “recognition” is mischievous and irrelevant. The Winner and Loser will only be known after the Petition is heard and the Judge declares them.

  9. Davies Mwila only comes out softer after LESSONS from world leaders and the commonwelth SG. They just side with which ever side suits them and NOT on principle or RULE OF LAW. Leadership is dynamic and soon new crop of leaders will emerge and RULES must prevail…….at all times.

  10. PF HAS NO GUTS. THEY ARE SHAMELESS PEOPLE WHOSE LEADERSHIP IS A LAWLESSNESS. SOON OR LATER SOME WILL DIE AND OTHERS WILL SEE WITH THEIR OWN EYES THE PROSEPERITY OF THE PEOPLE THEY INCARCERATED

  11. Mwila, Mwila are you just bubbling for the sake of adding your voice? What independence of the DPP are you talking about? If they (DPP) were really independent why didn’t they enter this Nolle before Patricia Scotland came? After your testicles have been pressed that’s when you say “independence”, which independence?? Blah blah blah! Nonsense!

  12. This is a no here or there statement from PF for any outcome would have been welcomed though had it been “with a case to answer” Mwila’s statement would not have been as guarded as stated! However note there is a veiled conditional threat in the very last paragraph!

  13. Mwila just shut up; only PF cadres will deny that Lungu and PF wanted HH to stay in prison for the trumped up treason case to force him to recognise Lungu; you’re all evil; hypocrites who use God’s name to hide your evil deeds;
