Zambian Photographer Chellah Tukuta Rancen was awarded the African Photographer of the year and the Lens Awards in Nigeria.

He had this to say on social media:

This is the beginning of hard work and am happy to have represented my country Mother Zambia at Continental level. I would love to dedicate this award to the woman who has seen me work my nose out Chanda Chibs, to my lovely and beautiful daughter Malumbo Joy Grace Tukuta, My mother Blesta Mpundu Mulenga who always told me one day I will be great, Yonah my new son adopted, to our leaders both in the ruling and opposition parties and above all to our current president Edgar Chagwa Lungu and to ALL THE ZAMBIANS

I would love to use my award as a way to advocate for peace, love and unity in my Country because it’s only when there’s these 3 that our country can develop and us the young people can be more productive. I would love to encourage every creative youth that ” Keep working hard and you never know who is watching. And instead of us being tools of violence let’s be advocates of peace and development. We are all ambassadors of Goodwill to Mother Zambia.

I would love to thank God above all and many people who have been pillars and sources of motivation like Mrs Miyanda Katiwa, Mr Rocky Sombe, Mr Makungo Muyembe, Mr KBF, Mr Geofrey Bwalya Mwamba, my sister’s Faith M. Kabende and Gwen Mulenga – Machiya the list is endless. I want to say “I AM VERY HUMBLED AND I LOVE YOU ALL.” To all my lovely and amazing followers who have made me a hero today I say “YOUR HAVE A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART”

  1. Congratulations! We needed some good news from somewhere after terrible gaffes from the President and the presidency past few days. You can not hide incompetence by wearing designer suits

  2. Photography requires hardwork , U ARE JOKING AND you call yourself a youth with 4 CHILDREN? U SEEM TO BE A MTHILA KUBILI how do u say thankyou to ECL at the sametime Opposition leaders? What have opposition leaders done to contribute or give u a platform to take ur tuma photoz apart from the ruling party? And u thank GBM and KBF honestly u dont appreciate the leadership how do u mix KBF -PF Legal chairman and GBM – UPND VP,,,,MULETEKANYA WABA UTUMENO KWATI NI BA……..

  3. …. and above all to our current president Edgar Chagwa Lungu…..

Kaunda era has arrived. The president must be acknowledged in every little happening. The era we endured has finally caught up with the current generation and they seem happy with it. If you were a musician you couldn’t sing a song without mentioning wamuyayaya. If you were a painter a portrait of KK was mandatory or else you don’t succeed.

  4. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN WISE ON THE PART OF LT TO FEATURE AT LEAST FIVE IMAGES FROM TUKUTA’S GALLERY OF HIS PHOTOGRAPHY WORKS THAT MADE HIM THE BEST AFRICA’S PHOTOGRAPHER. BUTT, THIS IS NOT SURPRISING FROM LT OR EVEN MOST JOURNALISM IN ZAMBIA. HALF REPORTING OR NOT AT ALL IS RAMPANT IN ZAMBIA’S JOURNALISM PRACTICE. WHAT A SHAME

  5. If he won at that level then he must be good.

Are you the one who took a picture of Father Bwalya and his Doll in Bed?

  6. @Nose demon, has no class! He is obsessed with the President and angry that wina Hazaluza Hagain! The story is about Chellah and not Edgar! Wow! UPND is a demon!
