CHOMA district Commissioner Sheena Muleya has called on the people of Choma not to politicize the day of prayer and turn up in numbers to attend the prayers program the district has organized.

Ms Muleya said the declaration of 18th October as the National day of prayer should not be affiliated to any political party but should be considered as a national event.

She has however called on the Choma residents to join the rest of the nation in praying for mother Zambia as the country has recorded numerous successes since the declaration of the day of prayer.

The district commissioner highlighted that the country received good rainfall in the previous rainy season owing to national prayers that were held last year.

Ms Muleya was speaking during the Choma District National day of prayer preparatory Meeting in Choma, today.

She has also called on church leaders in the district to encourage their members especially women to attend the national day of prayer which will be held at Choma Pentecostal church (CPC).

Meanwhile pastors fellowship chairperson Bornwell Chikonaika said the churches are ready for the day of prayer and have invited over 50 churches in the district to participate.

Pastor Chikonaika said the church has prepared messages in line with the theme and keen to ensure that the event is well attended.

Choma district will tomorrow 18th October, join the rest of the country in commemorating the national day of prayer under the theme” repentance, promoting peace and reconciliation, consolidating national unity and diversity.

  1. Is this event about pf politics or for prayers? Why even mention voting when the issue is about forcing the multitudes to pray with Lungu. Nothing wrong with praying for your country but it doesn’t have to become political or forceful. Numbers do not mean anything, people can also pray at home or at work.

  2. Why ask the Choma residents to join in prayers? Is it because they are Tongas? IT SHOULD BE RELIGIOUS PEOPLE. PASTORS AND PRIESTS AND NOT POLITICIANS ASKING THE PEOPLE AND BY SAYING THE PEOPLE OF CHOMA THAT JUST GOES TO SHOW HOW THEY ARE THINKING. PATHETIC.
