Football Association of Zambia ( FAZ ) president Andrew Kamanga has congratulated national team striker Patson Daka for emerging winner of the 2017 Confederations of African Football (CAF) Youth Player of Year Award.

“On behalf of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Executive and the entire football family, I would like to congratulate national team striker Patson Daka for winning the 2017 Confederations of African Football (CAF) Youth Player of Year Award, “ he said.

Kamanga says he is extremely pleased with striker Daka’s achievements both at domestic and International level it is for this reason that the player has thus far been a great ambassador and role model for the Zambian game and the entire nation.

He said the rewards Daka was reaping today are the fruits of yesterday’s struggles but advised the player to also be mindful that fame comes with great responsibilities.

“It is also worth acknowledging that you have set a high bar for yourself and many young people who are looking up to you.

“Therefore, as you celebrate your achievements, may I urge you to remain disciplined and steadfast,” said Kamanga

The FAZ president further wished the 2017 Confederations of African Football (CAF) Youth Player of Year God’s guidance in all his future endeavors.

  1. Congrats Patson. Keep it up and be disciplined. The other person to have won this award in Zambia Clifford Mulenga became too big headed and his career did not last long. Go look for him in SA and ask him what happened to him.

    • Patson Daka has brought Kamanga and Kalusha to negotiations table. It was great to see those 2 guys together
      Ni KoPa!!!

  2. I know someone will cry that there was tribalism in this award whilst its crystal known that only an Easterner or Bemba is capable of reaching such heights e.g Kalusha , Clifford Mulenga and now Daka.

  3. Congratulations Patson. I wish God’s blessings as you continue to persue even greater things in your career as a professional footballer and life in general. I have no doubt in my mind that I will soon be watching you playing for a bigger club in Europe. Job well done.

  4. Discipline and principles together with focus has made you the best in African football, put the award aside and forge in to achieve even bigger than that ……..congratulations

  5. This is nothing to celebrate about, HOW DO YOU CATEGORIES CAF YOUNG PLAYER , young means what? This boy is young? with kids and he not a virGIN? This will not last long next year u shall be offloaded from AUSTRIA which is not even known in football cycles ..ati young player ATASE SELELENI UKO TUBOMBEKO

    • Anyoko…

And you, what have you achieved? You can’t even be proud of your own Name….

Since you asked, Patson is under 20 which makes him a Teenager. In football circles if you’re under 23 you’re considered young, over that you are a Senior.

Yet still in social life, you are considered a youth as long as you are 35 and below. In Politics you are young upto the age of 50 or even 60.

So whatever scale you want to use he is Young.

Having Kids or not is not a determinant as there are a lot of people aged over 40 who don’t have any. Are they Young?

  6. Am disappointed with the so ANYOKO let’s support and be proud of our own. U wanted diata or salam to win are they any younger than patson. This is a country’s achievement, neither is this achievement attached to tribe
