President Edgar Chagwa Lungu is on Monday April 30, 2018 expected in Muchinga Province for a one-day official visit.
Muchinga Province Minister Malozo Sichone has confirmed the development in an interview with the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Chinsali today.
Mr. Sichone said President Lungu is expected to arrive in Chinsali on Monday morning and immediately proceed to launch the Zambia: Plant A Million Trees Initiative to take place at Kapasa Makasa University, located about 20 km from Chinsali boma.
The Provincial Minister added that the President will immediately fly back after the event that will also be attended by Cabinet ministers, members of the Diplomatic corps and several other senior government officials.
Mr. Sichone has since appealed to Chinsali residents to turn up in large numbers at Kapasa Makasa University to witness the launch of the Zambia: Plant A Million Trees Initiative.
Forests, both natural and planted , contribute greatly to the social-economic well-being of people hence the more reason why the Zambian Government has continued to support reforestation and afforestation programmes.
In 2015 President Lungu launched a multi-million Kwacha forest plantation for the Zambia Forest and Forestry Corporation (ZAFFICO) in Shiwang’andu district of Muchinga Province.
And Logistics Sub Committee Chairperson Maureen Mwale said that her team from Lusaka together with the Kapasa Makasa University administration is on the ground to ensure the event succeeds.
Ms. Mwale added that during the event, Muchinga Province will have an opportunity to showcase what it is able to offer in terms of Forests and Forest products saying local exhibitors on the Forest based industry have since been identified and include among others, the Forest Department, Culture and Arts, Community development and Kapasa Makasa University.
Meanwhile not one person has ever been arrested of illegally selling Mukula logs…you mean he has to travel all the way to Chinsali to do this, cant he delegate. In Zambia what we have in State House is a minister not a President.

I commend the planting of trees; we need more than 1m trees; stop smuggling mukula trees; Lungu just do good now to Zambia and finish well in 2021; don’t go for a 3rd term; otherwise you shall one end up in cells because of your evil deeds and corruption;
Who gave this guy his job description? What is provincial minister and other local officials doing? Nomba nabukapenda mabula ninchinto yabo? The only place he does not go is ACC. He does not want to see his name on every investigated document.
