Share

Nkana have jumped two places to third position after a 2-0 away win over old foes Kabwe Warriors on Sunday at Godfrey ‘Ucar’ Chitalu Stadium in Kabwe.

The record 12-time champions’ win was their fourth successive league victory and are now unbeaten in their last five matches since Zesco beat them 1-0 in Kitwe on April 8.

Sunday’s result also ended Warriors eight-match unbeaten run dating back to March 25 when they drew 1-1 in Kabwe against Red Arrows before picking five wins and three draws that had seen the Railwaymen flirt with second place heading in Week 10.

Ex-Warriors striker Idris Mbombo punished his former team with a brace in the 51wst and 59th minutes.

Nkana have 19 points, three behind leaders Zesco United and two adrift of second placed Green Buffaloes.
