Power Dynamos defender Billy Mutale is excited to bounce back into the Chipolopolo squad after a one-year absence.
Mutale has been named in the 30-member provisional squad by acting Chipolopolo head coach Beston Chambeshi ahead of Zambia’s 2018 COSAFA Cup outing in South Africa.
The defender has not been called for national duty since June 2017 when he allegedly declined to feature in Zambia’s friendly match against South Africa alongside forward Fwayo Tembo.
“It is nice to be called to the national team. You know how important the national team is to every processional footballer’s career,” Mutale reacted.
He is now targeting to earn a place in the final squad that will be in South Africa for the regional tournament.
“I will put in my best to make the final squad. Going to COSAFA means all the hard work is paying off,” Mutale said.
The ex-Nchanga Rangers and Kalulushi Modern Stars player is a regular at Power.

Zambian football is like mineral geography of the country. Minerals are where the settlers have no idea of them, i.e. Northwestern province. Footbal facilities in Zambia is found in tribal areas with most born youth that have no football talent.
