“Sate Sate” Kampamba hoping to make an impact at 2018 COSAFA Cup

Ronald ‘Sate Sate’ Kampamba says he is humbled to have been selected for the 2018 COSAFA Cup tournament and hopes to make an impact in Saturday’s quarterfinal clash against Namibia.

Kampamba comes in to the COSAFA Cup following his controversial omission from the 2018 CHAN tournament team in Morocco in January where Zambia made a quarterfinal exit under ex-coach Wedson Nyirenda.

“I am humbled, it is good to be back to the national team and I am looking forward to playing in the COSAFA Cup,” Kampamba said.

“My target is to help the team if I am given an opportunity to play.”

Meanwhile, Zambia faces Namibia hoping to end their two-match losing spell to The Brave Warriors in the competition.

Namibia eliminated Zambia at the same stage of the 2015 COSAFA Cup and the later beat Chipolopolo in the 2016 Plate finals.

Furthermore, Namibia and Zambia six months ago drew 1-1 at the 2018 CHAN in both sides final Group B match in Casablanca.

“It will not be an easy game but we should work together as a team to achieve our goal,” Kampamba said.

“I would also like to ask our fans to believe in us and support us and pray for us in our bid to win this tournament.”

Winner will play victor of the June 3 quarterfinal match between Madagascar and hosts South Africa in the semifinals on June 6 at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.

  1. Comment:Sate Sate unfortunately time to prove yourself is gone you have been tried b4 several times and you have a failure even outside Zambia. Just concentrate on Nkana FC.

  2. Indeed just concentrate on Nkana. It is like in this country both players and coaches have the same disease. They do not know who they are and what they want. Mwafilwa to make an impact locally and you want to go and make it elsewhere. Any way Julius Malema said it that in the absence of the best Zuma was the best. In this case we have ba sate sate our best. eheheheheheheheheh. If you cannot have nurseries, improve bola in schools to tap talent please!!!!
