The Zambia Cooperative Federation (ZCF) says it is determined to install all the 2,000 Solar Milling Plants countrywide before the end of this year.

ZCF Director General James Chirwa said 1300 solar milling plants have been installed so far out of the targeted 2,000.

Mr. Chirwa told ZANIS in an interview that his federation has so far erected 1,510 slabs in order to meet the targeted time frame.

“As ZCF we are committed to meeting the target of completing these activities within the course of 2018. So far 1,510 slabs have been erected, this shows that we are on course,” he said.

The ZCF Director explained that initially the project was supposed to be completed by August 2018, but cited upgrading works as one of the reasons that led to the initial target not being met.

He further pointed out that the federation upgraded the milling plants from manual to automatic in line with the current trends.

  3. Very good, let’s cut out the big milling companies. Zambians should be buying maize directly from farmers and from the market place then take to their own local hammer mills. This way money will be used in circulation rather than it going to chi Greek who will siphon it to some sh1thole Greek island which will eventually catch fire because they have been cursed by God for cheating us poor Africans. Greeks are partly to blame for the mess Zaire is in. These lowlifes siphoned so much money from DRC that they then ran into Zambia to steal more.
