Be Positive About Yourselves…echoes Phat Phab delegation.
Lungowe Simbotwe, Hot Fm’s News Anchor, Mwila Nsofu ZNBC’s Journalist, Actress Nasi Nyambe ,Honey ,Keturah and Kaliwa Presenters from Hot FM , Chilekwa Chibalange and Ziphra, under the umbrella of Phat Phab, mentored girls at Great North Road Academy main campus grades 8-12 about dangers of girls engaging themselves in sexual relationships at tender ages.
Lungowe Simbotwe, founder of Phat Phab- A Body Positive Movement, mentored GNRA girls about being confident of whom they are. “You may be fat darker, slimmer but never mind what others say about you what matters is what you think about yourself and that should be positive always , be you, there’s never going to be anyone like you,” she said.
Asked how the mentorship programme at GNRA went, Lungowe said, “It was amazing, the engagement with the pupils was really amazing, and we hope to come back here, and get feedback from the girls and mentor more girls. The Mentors energies where great and I could see the young ladies where holding on word for word which is good.”
Other topics talked about where the importance of education. Phat Phab draws influential personalities from all societal spheres to mentor girls under the Campaign Mentors For Mentor which is an ongoing mentorship Program that will be happening in different Secondary schools in Lusaka where the girls are encouraged to mentor other girls and spread positivity as well as to encourage the development of good social skills and encourage participation in the developmental agenda for the Nation through the mentors .
The Academy, has taken mentoring programs serious and have established a subsidiary of Great North Road Academy Rehab Centre, where learners enjoy rehabilitation services among other counselling programs.
