Minister of Religious Affairs and National Guidance Godfridah Sumaili has condemned local Artist Cynthia Kayula Bwalya popularly known as Kay Figo for circulating indecent images of herself.

Reverend Sumaili says it is an insult to the women folk especially that the country is advocating for women rights.

In a statement to ZNBC, the Minister said artists must be role models to society because they have a huge following.

Reverend Sumaili says her ministry is taking a strong stance against such immoral acts and is working closely with the Ministry of Home Affairs to ensure the law takes it’s course.

She says stiff measures will be enforced soon as it has been observed that moral decay among artists and individuals is a growing trend.

  1. this so called minister of religious need to condemn police brutality too. she only condemns when nudity is exposed.is she minister of nudity?

    • LunguFridah Sumaili

How about condemning corruption in government…

This ministry is blasphemous… using the name of the Lord in vein.

Minister, we are convinced your god is ECL… because you have never criticised for once the injustices from this government

    • There’s no nudity exposed here. The girl’s hands covered her nudity. You want to have arbitrary definitions of nudity? Make one acceptable definition ????if you can????and we will all obey it. I can assure you you won’t find one because what is nakedness now won’t be the case tomorrow and what was nudity yesterday isn’t so now.
As there is no such definition let artists be what they are:challengers of social norms and social nonsense. These challenges move society forward.

    • Yaaa that show of ichhinena was to up-close.
So many guys using in their heads when they are with their women. It’s a sin.

    • On this occasion I support Hon Sumaili. Don’t worry mum, no one in there right mind would go near that STI infested fimo fimo. But yet again, give me a bottle of Jameson I will in Kamikaze.

    • Mpendula kayaula you are a fool. If one is an adult is not a gate way for wickedness. Mind you we have young ones to protect. Iam very sure you are a under5 cadre…If you have no morals get lost…Leave us alaaaa

  2. The most useless ministry in the world…this is a place where they simply read newspapers from Monday to Friday and wait for payday!!

    • A useress party talking about an important ministry! A TRIBAL H-organisation is the one which is a useress ministry. It should disband because its people think TRIBE first and SUBSTANCE second.

    • Just feeding on our tax!
We could build a school on Sumaili’s salary. I didn’t donate tax to this ministry!

  3. A minister without an agenda. This ministry has no scope and should be abolished. I only expect this ministry in an Islamic country to enforce Shari’ah law.

    • Edgar Chagwa Lungu!
Shipelako Sharon incito. Abomba ukutuka HH umoshacela. Mupeni akafulo bwangu bwangu umukashana ilyo ashila fule fyamfwalo.

Umunankwe Lusambo walimukaika la job. Nensele shalileka.

Ed Chomba nap walimuninka bu ps, nobufi bwalishima. Nga Sharon ena walamutanina cinshi?

  4. Looks like this minister spends a lot of time on the internet. Why can’t she advocate for better things like praying and fasting for this country; that we may not be affected by the so called climate change and that we live by and show real love for every human being. This ministry is an unnecessary drain on coffers, it should go back to being a department under social services just like infrastructure should go to works and supply. Austerity measures must be first shown be reducing size of government. Mr president sir, you have my vote, do the right thing. Real change comes from within not by condemnation.

  5. So, what about those bare breast Ngoni woman ku Nchwala who are they insulting or are they also going to be banned? Muleyishibako Tuntu

  6. Zodwa come and see this! They unceremoniously deported this poor lady claiming she was going to damage morals in Zambia…Which morals are there in Zambia? How does one damage something which doesn’t exist?

  7. Didn’t your ancestors walk very naked a d today you want to condem African originality before muzungu told you to cover up with a lame excuse ati what ???????????? Mule Yishibako Tuntu

    • In Fact Africans were clothed Idyot, your inferiority Complex does not know how to distinguish between cultural performance attire, and everyday wear. Europeans tried to portray Africans as backward with doctored pictures in their books. Wake up.

    • The argument that Africans walked butt-naked before the coming of Europeans renders the bible very false.. if indeed we evolved from Adam who realized was naked before he and his neighbor had children, at what point did we decide to shed off our clothes?

Not that the bible is not false withou the above argument.

  8. Out of the K154M allocated for women and children programs 0% has been disbursed but the PF has disbursed over 100% for Minister’s foreign travel expenses and allowances. Kapiri MP challenged this useless Minister but she’s quiet. K Figo just took nsunko and the whole Minister goes ballistic? Sumaili is petty. Go East Point and see what poverty has done to your fellow women

  9. These are the effects of poverty, reduce people”s suffering and these things will stop. Last time the MMD stole the money they sold companies women paraded themselves before imbwa, so continue stealing and soon you’ll see the effects in moral degradation

  10. She says stiff measures will be enforced soon as it has been observed that moral decay among artists and individuals is a growing trend.
Sumaili and your fellow theocrats this is a democracy not the Vatican or Saudi Arabia. In a democracy laws don’t come from chosen people’s heads but from a constitution agreed upon by everyone not a select or nominated few.
People are free to do what is legal. Do not dream up laws if they are not there

  11. Madam Sumaili, don’t listen to the warped minds of these wicked bloggers, addicts of lawless whose sexual appetites have overruled and captivated their reasoning. They are a cursed generation, and at no time will you hear them subscribe to morality. Ubushilu bwabo mwana lesa akeshilamo fye tabwakaposhiwe.

  12. So even this minister watches pictures on social media? Well I guess she has nothing much to do except for preparing for day of prayer and so she must be on social media 24/7.

  13. Madam Minister of Fundamentalism, women’s rights also mean the right for a woman to express herself in her manner of choice.
